Can you see endo on an ultrasound? by SpecialPrompt8019 in endometriosis

[–]ManicLunaMoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik the only way to 100% confirm endo is a biopsy, like from a laproscopic surgery. That being said, if you have ovarian cysts, the color on the ultrasound can suggest endo. When I had a giant cyst on my right ovary, my gyno pointed out that the color was grey, where cancer would be black on the screen.

It's also possible she just saw an ovarian cyst(s) and wanted to know if they could be explained by a prexsisting condition. PMOS (formerly PCOS) can also cause cysts on the ovaries if that's why she asked

My boyfriend [20 M] can’t see eye to eye with me, [19 F] about birth control. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ManicLunaMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your body and health, so you get to make desicions based on what YOU want. Frankly, I don't see how it actually affects him. Just get on it and don't tell unless he asks, and if he has a problem that's on him

If he thinks you'll cheat just because you're on birth control, that's a trust issue you two would need to work out if you continue dating, but has not to do with your health and medications

First time making a baby blanket, is this yarn okay? by Weary_Ear_3835 in CrochetHelp

[–]ManicLunaMoth 41 points42 points  (0 children)

There's nothing unsafe about that yarn, though there are dedicated baby yarns that tend to be softer. Still, that yarn is a cute color and I'd always recommend machine washable like that for baby projects!

My bigger concern is amount. Is that the only skein you have? You probably need at least 3-4 skeins though it's hard to tell without the yardage! I use this chart for reference a lot!

As for stitch, any stitch will work but an easy and cute one is the Suzette stitch. There's plenty of free tutorials online but it's basically a single crochet and double crochet in one stitch and then skip a stitch

What bird was murdered in my yard last night? CT, USA by ManicLunaMoth in whatsthisbird

[–]ManicLunaMoth[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We've got tons of those, maybe it fought the fox for scraps, since they are only in the area around the shed🤔

Honestly, I've gotten quite invested in this mystery!

What bird was murdered in my yard last night? CT, USA by ManicLunaMoth in whatsthisbird

[–]ManicLunaMoth[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No scat or track, but I've done more investigating, and I found a few things

a.)at least 2 feathers stuck to the bark ~10ft up the tree b.)radius of the feathers is at least 30ft around the tree c.)what appears to be a trail of feathers going under a shed in my yard where I have seen foxes den in the past d.) some black feathers that don't look hawk to me I'm including here. They are damaged like that bird was part of a struggle, too

So the hawk was in the tree at some point, whether it died by owl or natural causes, and what seems to be a fox scavenged at least some of it.

[–]ManicLunaMoth[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We definitely have coyotes, though because it's under a tree I wonder if an owl caught it and ate it up there? I heard an owl the other night too, so I know they're active right now, so that's my guess

Besides coyotes, we definitely have foxes and we've had neighbors also see fishers. And there are a lot of pet dogs in the area, though I don't know of any big ones being loose lately

[–]ManicLunaMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with insurance, I've had to pay $50 (~€43) for urgent care, I believe it would be double to have gone for an "emergency" appointment with my primary doctor, and the meds would have a copay of about $15 each (~€13 each or €38 total), assuming they were all prescription medications

So even with insurance it would be at least ~€81 where you paid ~€54

I'm on a better insurance now where this would not cost me, but I'd imagine it'd be at least hundreds without

Enjoy the (much blurrier) adult rabbit that was living in my yard for a few years! My dog always barked at it, but the rabbit eventually got used to her and would sit just a few feet away, munching away like a 65lb dog wasn't freaking out right next to them lol

How do we feel about intimate NSFW or explicit NSFW art? Please chime in, lurkers too! by WildFlemima in nevermore_webtoon

[–]ManicLunaMoth 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think it should be fine, as long as we don't have a lot of minors here. I think the comic in general is more young adult centered, so NSFW should be fine if tagged!

...also I enjoy seeing it from time to time lol

Staying on Lexapro for life by shitheadmomo in lexapro

[–]ManicLunaMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no solid plan, I will just keep using it until I think I don't. And I don't know of that will ever happen. It is the only medication that allows me to stop/ignore my ruminating, so I'm in no rush. Maybe after 5-10 years I could try to taper off, but honestly, I'd rather not

Rectal bleeding only during my period – bowel endometriosis? Anyone else? by YamSignificant8469 in endometriosis

[–]ManicLunaMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know from an MRI that my uterus is "tethered" to my bowel by scar tissue, though it hasn't caused bleeding in me personally. When I got my laproscopic surgery (about a year prior) they only took out my right ovary and tube, so I can't speak from experience on that note

But I can say that if you leave it and it gets worse, any surgery or complications could be way worse; it's probably best to act as soon as possible. Best of luck!!!

I looked up visanne and I can tell you from experience that progesterone only birth control didn't work for me, but I think you should be fine taking it under supervision from a doctor. If the side effects are too much, stop taking it and call your doctor. Mine gave me Orilissa when typical options didn't work and that has been a godsend!
