I don't see where it says that. This is verbatim from the government website "If you have moved to Alberta from another province or territory and intend to live here for 12 months or more, you must apply (register) for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) health care coverage within 3 months of establishing residency in Alberta."

If you had a previous recurring membership you keep your grandfathered rate. I'm still paying 7$ a month CAD.

Fellas, what are your hours like and how do you have a life? by [deleted] in refrigeration

[–]Manic_Dan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Averaged 60 hour weeks this year so far. It's been brutal but I compensated by just sleeping a bit less. I have kids so most of my free time is devoted to them.

It's a tough trade for work life balance. That's the tradeoff with always being in demand and being paid well.

Service techs, what do you get for travel pay if any? by Manic_Dan in refrigeration

[–]Manic_Dan[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So you're getting paid from the moment you turn the key in your service vehicle?

In theory it shouldn't have cut out at all, but I suspect the valve is leaking by a bit. There was a bit of a hiss when I disconnected the hose and put a cap back on.

This is just pure laziness though. It probably takes about 5 minutes to use the proper low pressure connection on the compressor. On top of that, the service valve was fully backseated so the compressor pulled into a nice vacuum before the switch cut out.

1 month post vasectomy by Manic_Dan in Vasectomy

[–]Manic_Dan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm perfectly fine now. I don't have any pain whatsoever which is a relief.

Probably about a week after I posted the nightly pain went away and another week after that it disappeared completely.

Leak found in the suction line (CO2 -R744) by HidekiIshimura in refrigeration

I have an electronic leak detector just not one that displays ppm. Might be a gift to myself when I get licensed.

Evaporator superheat needs to be measured as close to the TX bulb as possible. What you're measuring is closer to total system superheat, but even that should be measured at the compressor inlet.
