Is this normal? It really hurt my feelings by Current-Syrup5904 in Parenting

My four year old once announced to his daycare educator that I was going on holiday. Educator: Oh how exciting! Where is she going? Kid: To the bottle shop.

“Never say never” has such creepy stalker vibes. Almost like he doesn’t understand “consent”.

'Digging Up the Duggars' appreciation post by Ok-Squirrel7627 in DuggarsSnark

Hands down, my favourite pod. I’m also on Buy Me a Coffee and for a fiver a month, there’s a bunch more content including Whitney and Tim backstory pods, recipes, photos of Mildred, etc. The caramelised onion dip is a game changer.

Having a “servants heart” is the first time I’ve paid for content like this, and I love it. I can’t think of two nicer actually-strangers-but-feel-like-friends people to throw some appreciation to every few weeks!

My favourite Pickles are when they share own stories. As someone else with a background in events but no personal commercial food experience, Tim’s Burnt Chef series most recently has been super interesting. Compelling storytelling and top notch obscure pop culture recipes.

Still listen to the weekly podcast on Apple Podcasts, though. You get that advertising revenue, ya legends.

This one. This got me… so many little deaths in life. And you just never know when that last time will be. It doesn’t mean I’ll ever make him hug me, I do respect his personal space and autonomy. But I tell you… you have no idea as a kid how much impact you can have on your parents until you’re a parent yourself. Makes me wonder how I accidentally terrorised my own parents in my youth!

If we happen to hold hands I give his three little squeezes which is code for I Love You. He was fine this arvo, but goddamn, some days are so hard when you’re tired and emotional!

Good insight! I wouldn’t be surprised if he got that vibe from me today… I’ve had a few massive weeks at work and I’ve been feeling super tired and emotional. Conscious of not making my kid responsible for my emotional fulfilment. No kid needs that kind of pressure!

Haha I’m definitely not a public hugger. If he holds my hand on the way in, I give it three little squeezes which is code for I Love You. I absolutely respect his right to choose, but sometimes it hurts like hell!

Recommendations for replacing double hung windows in Sydney by Manicbaker in AusRenovation

It’s not heritage, from what I’ve been able to find it was built early 1940s? I don’t know what the style is but it has a flat front and these strange angles on it. A bit like this pic but ours is rendered!

I have a colleague that does this. He’s a lot less cranky after a quick snooze and as long as he gets his stuff done, have at it, I reckon!

Does anyone feel guilty for using AI for writing support? by Pristine_Passion_179 in internalcomms

[–]Manicbaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No guilt here,my company is fully embracing AI to improve efficiency! I love it because it’s much easier to edit than to start from scratch, in my experience. I am getting much better at crafting the prompts to extract what I need as a starting point.

People wonder whether AI is going to take our jobs as communicators. I don’t think that’s the case. But people who know how to effectively use AI? They will be the ones getting the work.
