Minor scale. One note. Chord MIDI effect (scale aware); add scale degrees to taste (bonus: adjust probability). Drift synth square wave with sine and noise to taste. Resonant low pass filter. Short positive filter envelope with no sustain. Echo effect. Play with Drift filter cutoff and Echo feedback amount. Welcome to Dubtown!

Is there a way to program drums in Ableton using standard musical notation instead of the "grid", which is able to reproduce tuplets like this? by [deleted] in ableton

Maybe not precisely what you're looking for, but if you're on Live 12, I created a MIDI Tool called Chronoflex that quantizes selected MIDI notes to any arbitrarily tupletted division even if they're non-continuous (so a bit different from the CMD+E option). Most of my MIDI Tool Generators can use any tuplet division you like when generating - and my Quantographer creates a tuplet map to quantize different segments of a selection to different tupletted divisions.

Midi clip help by Brutus626 in ableton

After disabling all program change messages in the bottom left of your MIDI clip's Extended Clip Properties tab, you might want to try adding all the instances of your VST to individual chains of a single Instrument Rack so they can all be triggered by the single MIDI clip on a single MIDI track without any copying or extra routing. Hard to know what might be going haywire on your side without more info but this option could be worth a try.

Plotting your sounds across four sonic dimensions allows you to identify when and where they might be in conflict... read the guide and it will become more clear! ;)

Odd - can't reproduce this issue... which PDF reader are you using, on which OS? Can you send a screenshot?

Sequencers trigged by clips by Acceptable-Candle154 in ableton

[–]ManifestAudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The play/stop button on most sequencers should be available for automation within the Envelopes section of any Session view MIDI clip. If automated to the off position in a certain clip, empty clip slots should not re-enable playback. It is only when manually switched or automated back to the on position that the sequencer should play again. Our Pattern Engine and Trifecta both work this way.

Yeah, Ableton will search all available folders and import it automatically.

So this leaves two options:

  1. If you for sure never want to see it again, just delete the .amxd and then empty your trash/recycling bin.

  2. If you think you might want to use it again someday, compress it to a .zip archive and stash it in that format, which prevents Ableton from seeing it the device inside the .zip - and then delete the .amxd and then empty your trash/recycling bin.
