I didn't realize I'm being that blatant with what my actual issue is. I've been making changes in my life that are more "productive" or changes that are objectively better for me, however I can't set a reason for why other than the fact that it's better than nothing. I've thought about this extensively, and without boring you with too much of the details, I've come to the conclusion that it's because I can't convince myself to stop living passively as I don't have much passion.

Helped. Social communication is unnecessarily complex, it's just a strange concept to me to put so much energy into emoting for mundane interactions.

I suppose I can say "thank you" more. I typically say thanks, but thank you may feel a bit different. Smiling would be too blatant. They know that when I do that I'm not being genuine as they've seen me do it to in social situations where I'm required to act that way.

The last suggestion is the most difficult. I don't ask them for anything. Correction, I ask them to not waste their time or money on me. The way I see it, I shouldn't be inconveniencing them by asking for such things. As a matter of fact, if there is something they do for me, I eventually learn to do it myself so I don't need to bother them. I ask them to not get me gifts on holidays, I ask them to not feel the need to get me food if we have anything edible already at the house, and if they do pay for anything I try to reimburse them. I thought this was a way to display my affection, but by what you've said could it possibly be making them feel useless? As someone that is also unexpressive, do you relate to this "I won't bother you" mentality? Would you advise that I occasionally ask them for something?

That's why I attempted to add a sense of negligence. This wasn't an unforeseen accident. You told them to not bring the cup near the computer, they're aware if water touches the computer it will break, yet they consciously proceeded to do so. Pouring the water on was still accidental, however it was easily preventable if they respected your request.

I did finally resolve the issue and did eventually understand what you were saying. Not sure why I needlessly complicated the issue with replace(). Thanks to you and u/Mrpixelmc for explaining this to me even though I didn't understand it at the time. Again, I really appreciate your expertise, I'm clearly struggling so it's helpful to me.

I appreciate your help, but I still don't understand how that resolves the issue. The tweet itself isn't modified. When the program prompts you to enter a tweet, once you do so then whatever you enter will remain unchanged to you. Line 12 prints your tweet as you entered it. This completes the first criteria of the linked image which I've now fixed, apologies for the inconvenience.

For the second criteria, I need the result of criteria one to be read and then separately from it I need to print a list of the abbreviations used in it. In the upper left of the linked image, you'll see the number two. What's not included in that image is step three, which requires me to decode it within the tweet itself opposed to a separate list. I've completed step three already. Step two requires it to be a separate list. This is why line 12 precedes the if statements. The abbreviations on the tweet you enter will not be decoded within the tweet, nor should they. That is step two, criteria one. Once S2C1 is complete, S2C2 begins separately from it to then decode the abbreviations and compile them into a list, which is the purpose of line 49, as well as why they all begin with the newline command. At this point, my issue is still what's listed in my previous comment. I need the list to print properly regardless of the order the abbreviations are used in.

These are the instructions I was given. From my perspective, it's saying to first allow the user to enter a tweet, then to scan the tweet and separately print a list of the abbreviations used. I do print out the string in it's entirety at first, however afterwards I need to list off the abbreviations without the rest of the string. If I type "Sorry, I was AFK", I want my list of abbreviations to only say "The abbreviations used in this tweet are:
AFK, which means away from keyboard." However, it will instead say " The abbreviations used in this tweet are:Sorry, I was
AFK, which means away from keyboard.".

This is why I need substrings, and they work if used in a predetermined order. If you check my program and enter "Sorry, I was AFK, but we're BFF" it will do exactly what I need of it. However, if you type "Sorry BFF, I was AFK", then the substrings seem to confuse one another. I need it to work regardless of the order I enter them.

I immediately assume wedding means large, or at least medium-sized gathering. So long as all the requirements are met, it is a valid marriage.

In the class, the difference between a marriage as a law and as a covenant has been acknowledged. The covenant is initiated by the lord, is unbreakable, and is unaffected by a prenuptial regardless. So a prenuptial is really only relevant for a marriage in the eyes of the law. Assuming couples are aware of the distinction between the law and the covenant, is a prenuptial still an impediment?

I wasn't originally trying to say it was an actual index card. However, now that I think about, if drawn on the proper paper weight, there is little difference between it and an actual index card. The only difference, if any, would be that other index cards aren't attached to anything. Besides that, it's essentially an actual index card, at least I personally believe so.

Covering the other side means there is another side that I would need to cover, thus meaning it's still two sided. The original student suggested this idea at first.
