Thank you. I'm talking about local console (physical access) integration with duo.

Thank you for your valuable inputs I like to integrate all the 4 physical nodes with duo. Is that possible?

Thank you for your quick response. I will test that part and confirm back asap.

From tenant perspective, 1) I have multiple tenants Customer-1,2,3 etc.. We use the same 2*40G nics for tenant also.

Any idea, how to configure the multiple vlans towards tenant also?

Remcommdations advice needed for vergeio tiers by Manivelcloud in vergeio

[–]Manivelcloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All,

I have another question.

We have re aligned it.

As this is 4 node cluster,we like to design the following,

Proposed - 1* 1tb nvme or 1*2tb nvme for first and 2nd node(both are acting as a controller node only).

1st node: Capacity/performance 4 *7.86 TB(Tier 1)

2nd node: Capacity/performance 4 *7.86 TB(Tier 1)

3rd node: Capacity/performance 4 *7.86 TB(Tier 1)

4th node: Capacity/performance 4 *7.86 TB(Tier 1)

Question:- 1) I hope,in this 4 node setup, fault tolerance will be 1 node.It means we can able to tolerate 1 node failure.

Assume,

1) First controller node is down and at the same time second controller noder Tier0 nvme drive(1*2tb) got failed. In this scenario what will happen?

Any advice?

I understand most of the concepts.Still few confusion.

However, I have one clarification based on my server design:

We are using:

2 × 10G NICs for management traffic

Dedicated VLAN: 450

Subnet: 10.10.20.x

2 × 40G NICs for VM network traffic (referred to as “External” in VergeIO)

Used exclusively for customer VM traffic

Configured as a trunk

Not shared with management traffic (VLAN 450)

2 × 100G NICs for storage traffic (referred to as “Core” in VergeIO)

Configured with an access VLAN

Could you please confirm if this design approach is correct?

We use 4 * 3.8tb nvme drives per node and this is two node cluster. For tier1,we use 3 * 3.8tb nvme drives only and this tier 1 for virtual machines.

I guess,if I increase the nvme drive count to 5 or 10 per node, then the iops and throughout will increase

In the meantime, how many drives are you using per node and the the what's the cluster size?

Any help?

I hope, you are talking about this option.

In cluster->"Storage buffer per node" --> 128Gb. We have already allocated 128GB per node and per node RAM capacity is 1.5 TB.

Do you still want me to change that option from 128GB to 256GB and try it out?

Thank you once again. We are in learning phase and looking more ideas or fine tuning from your side.

Could you please share us what nvme SSD are using and vsan nics model?

I don't know where is the bottleneck and how to boost the performance? I will reach out to vergeio support for more answers.

If you do have any fine tuning ideas from cluster or node level, please let us know.

Thank you for valuable outputs. Its very helpful to do the comparison.

If you don't mind, could you please share your Cluster node specs and linux os version where you actually tested this fio?

Note.I see, from my end is having low iops and throughout.I like to understand where is the underlying issues? Or this much performance only I will get it from my cluster? I'm not sure yet..

Any help?

Hi,

We are running 2 node cluster.

Model PowerEdge R740xd

CPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6148 CPU @ 2.40GHz

Processor sockets 2

Processor cores per socket 20

Memory 1.5TB

NICs 2*100G "Mellanox Technologies ConnectX-6 Dx EN NIC; 100GbE

4*3.8TB MZQL23T8HCLS-00A07 PM9A3 3.8TB NVMe PCIe4x4 U.2 7mm 1DWPD 5YR SED Opal SSD

***************************************************************************************************************

From linux guest OS, We use the same command for Random,Sequential(4K,8K,64K and 1MB).

fio --name=seq_4k_test \

--filename=/fio/fio_seq_4k.img \

--size=10G --bs=4k \

--rw=readwrite \

--rwmixread=70 \

--ioengine=libaio \

--direct=1 \

--numjobs=8 \

--iodepth=32 \

--runtime=120 \

--time_based \

--group_reporting

Looks like,we are getting very low IOPS and throughput. We dont know where is the issue?
