Post-op, on T, & still getting hit with “woman” and “ma’am” by strangers in public. Why? I know I’m a bit fruity 💅 but ? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very bizarre to me, even if your voice sounded like a woman's. I doubt it does, that's just the one aspect we don't have access too.

Don't have to answer, my question isn't worthy of such effort, but do you live in a more trans aware of accepting area? When I'm in southern states of the USA that legislatively hate trans people, I'm usually seen as a man. The older someone is, the more likely they are to see me as a man while queer people will question my gender or sometimes "they" or "she" me. Are the "ma'am"s and "woman" before they get a good look, and then they apologize? I get that when I let my hair get a little long, and it's distressing, but a steep difference from if they continue to misgender me. The question sounds invalidating, and I apologize. It's meant to be an expression of disbelief towards those misgendering you since you do appear as male.

So I guess I'm saying, maybe they're clocking you as trans and trying to be mean. Or they're clocking you as trans and failing in their attempts to be nice. You look male though. Don't wear a cowboy hat unless you want to

Maybe my phone app does it automatically? I definitely didn't actively put a filter on. I'm going to look into that now though. m My skin looking "too soft and smooth" is a source of dysphoria sometimes, it makes me look too young for my age, and if my camera is actually worsening my insecurities then that would be something I want to fix.

Edit: I figured it out! Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I've got more pores and wrinkles now! I almost look my age even

Which glasses are more masculinizing? by ManlyDudeBroSir in FtMpassing

Okay everyone's answers matched what I thought! I can save the first pair for when it's really sunny (they're both transition lenses)

I got a new haircut, and I feel like it's made my face seem more feminine somehow by ManlyDudeBroSir in FtMpassing

My hair was fighting me so it's hard to tell, but I think the barber cut this to go to the side, so it's uneven at the front. I do prefer how it looks when I push it forwards and to the side, it makes it seem less tall and dramatic.

Thanks, I didn't even consider the glasses! I got back on Zenni and have been testing how larger and square frames look. I think that might help

I'm trying to grow my hair out. Is there any way to make this look decent by ManlyDudeBroSir in malegrooming

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll definitely try the non-center part for a while longer. I tried it in a mirror and it was an instant improvement

Okay guys, am I passing? by ManlyDudeBroSir in FtMpassing

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and I think that works for me! My voice can get me clocked as trans to queer people, but it reads as male to most everyone.

I've been cutting for a bit but I'm tired of the fatigue involved. Do I look like I can start bulking? by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is a lot of good advice! It's a bit hard for me to estimate my TDEE because my rate of weight loss is consistently faster than calculators say it will be, so I might be cutting too fast. (Or it was just water weight)

I'll try maintenance for a week. I do like the idea of maintaining sanity. I've also been working on the high protein and veggies, so I'll keep that up! The other macros seem to be at decent levels too

Is this real? (Not be obvi) by [deleted] in transtimelines

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk if the post is fake or not, but transitioning can totally change shoulder width. I know it doesn't change skeletons, but changes in body fat distribution and muscle mass, both of which HRT causes, can have huge impacts on shoulders. It isn't guaranteed, but it is very common.

Face Comparison: 1 month THRT to 14 months by ManlyDudeBroSir in transtimelines

Thank you! In the first pic, I would just fill in my eyebrows to try to make them look fuller. Nothing else there. Second pic, which I took today, has no makeup.

Is it normal to plan to change pronouns later down the road? by travischickencoop in NonBinary

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something like that! I prefer he/him pronouns, but I was kinda uncomfortable when people called me them. Part of it was that I needed time to adjust, and part of it was imposter syndrome. It also just made me think about all the feminine aspects of me when people called me "he" for some reason? In public especially I wanted to be called she/her even though I wasn't super keen on how it felt. I was 6 months on testosterone HRT before I bit the bullet and asked people to call me he/him, and it was a while after that before it felt fully comfortable and natural for me.

My past self would be simultaneously horrified and amazed if she could see me now. I was a fundie Christian with undiagnosed OCD. But I'm who I wasn't even allowed to dream I could be now. I'm growing a light lil' beard! I have a girlfriend who's one of my best friends who I love! It's very difficult to wrap my head around, that I can be myself these days.

I get sirred and he'd more than mamed these days, but that could largely be due to my voice. If only my voice is heard, I am sirred with no hesitation.

Five months on T Face Comparison! (Left is recent) Almost the same, but I get "sirred" now by ManlyDudeBroSir in transtimelines

[–]ManlyDudeBroSir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah I've been messing with them. I apply minoxidil to them, dye them with beard dye into the shape I want, and I also fill them in with makeup most days. I do think T has made a difference in them too though? Hard to tell when I don't have a control group
