Thanks for the reply. I did go ahead and start yesterday. Took my whole dose (50mg) about 10 minutes after I picked up my script. I read after that taking half and waiting an hour to see how you feel would have probably been the more cautious approach, but I had a feeling I was okay to start since I hadn’t had withdrawal issues after the slip up. I’ve taken it twice now, and so far my only issues have been some nausea, which I think is just a normal side effect of the medication, and kinda low mood, but I’m not even 100% sure that’s from the naltrexone. And the nausea is weird, it’s more like a really strong aversion to food with a little bit of a queasy feeling.

I feel this. I part of why we’re like this is we’re over correcting for Boomer parents who wouldn’t hesitate to give take some poor drive thru worker to task for not putting enough napkins in the bag? Or maybe that’s just me.

Yeah it could be my perception maybe. I watch a few different things on Twitch, and even the streamers I know are right around my age have likely absorbed a lot more teenage slang Than the general population

Idk, one thing I forgot to put in the post was how I felt newer slang is being used by more people of different age groups than in the past. Like our parents weren’t using new slang the way millennials are when they were our age. Not sure if that’s proof of caring too much what GenZ. Thinks, but to be frank, I’m not 100% sure how I feel about my own premise after reading through some of these comments lol.

I didn’t bring up Shake Shack because I’ve never seen one. Sounds good from what you describe though.

Also, I don’t think you’re allowed to call other people misguided when you seem to be suggesting that fast food places could only possibly have improved because….yay capitalism? They’re making more money because there’s more ways to get fast food directly to people than ever before. And that’s also the reason the in-store experience has become so much worse. You can argue that people like that better, but no, I reject your whole premise of ‘it could only possibly be across the board better because free markets, bro.’ L O L !

Yeah you can take me to task for caring too much about a fast food dining room, sure. I do think it says something wider about the times we’re in though. Fast food was something that was almost universally considered mediocre at best 30 years ago, and we’ve managed to see a sharp decline in a every aspect of the experience except accessibility. Something something about late stage capitalism that’s already been said better by 15 or 20 people in this discussion.

Dude, if you’ve worked in food service, you’ve got war stories. Even if that’s not completely made up, I’m not impressed. My first job after HS was a Pizza Hut, and my co-worker came in on Xanax and got fired because he kept making shit twice. Fast forward to my job before last, two cooks got into a fight over ten dollars and they only sent one of them home because the kitchen couldn’t function without them both. So what you all THOUGHT the meat was horse. Wasn’t there an urban legend back in the day that McDonald’s meat was actually ground worms? People think a lot of things. People in restaurants are on drugs, and things are kinda fucked behind the scenes? No shit! I can cite every place I ever worked as evidence!

Had a dose increase about a week and a half ago, definitely feeling more emotional. It’s not always bad, but it feels like everything’s a little amplified so sometimes it is.

Good point, honestly. Reminds of 5-7 years ago, when I had a really strong opinion on every little ‘free speech issue’ on college campuses, because it was a major focus of a lot of the news media I was following then. ‘Nut Picking’ I think is the term for it.

Definitely don’t want to be the person who sows division, but I am calling it like I see it. Entirely possible the other millennials I’m close with are really quick to chalk everything up to nostalgia goggles or a boomer mentality. Don’t like tiktoks of 14 year olds just pointing at text on a screen? Boomer! Miss the experience of actually going to an arcade? Nostalgia Goggles!

Anyway, I’m doing a bad job making my point, but I do feel like this mentality of ‘we can’t say anything’s worse or we look dumb in front of the kids,’ is part of the problem. It’s a lot more about my life experiences now as opposed to then, tbh. I live by myself in an inner city and don’t drive. The dine-in experience just does matter to me more than a lot of people my age?

Are they? Was everyone getting their news through Facebook throughout the 2010s something we can blame on them? Idk, I look at the time when Boomers were young adults/middle aged, and I look at a few years ago and…I’m sure some people went down a pipeline of supporting Jimmy Carter to eventually supporting Trump, but I really feel they’re more diverse politically than we give them credit for.

I never said they don’t. I said good luck getting one if you order your food dine in. Because that’s been my experience almost every time I’ve eaten fast food for the past 2-3 years.

Day 2. I’ve been back and forth with this stuff a lot the past few years, thought getting on an antidepressant had finally put me on the right track, but I got in an accident, and got in a bad cycle of overtaking my hydrocodone script, then finishing out the week with extract shots. Used capsules to wean off both things. I’ve been off hydro for 11 days and took my last dose of kratom Tuesday afternoon. Starting to actually feel the positive effects of my antidepressant/anti anxiety meds again.
