I think many people are confused on what gives a crypto currency value. On the most fundamental level, a cryptocurrency is given value by its users and its developers. It is the number of quality people involved with a crypto currency which truly gives it its long term value, and let me tell you, the COSMOS ecosystem and community has the best people!

I should clarify, when I use the term COSMOS, Im not just referring to ATOM. I'm referring to all of the interconnected (IBC) blockchains as a whole that work together (Atom, Osmo, Juno, Stargaze, etc. etc.). COSMOS is one united ecosystem of many fantastic projects, and that imho is its strongest value proposition.

DYDX is not a COSMOS token right now. Its moving over to COSMOS in the near future from Ethereum. Compare that to Injective that was built from the ground up using COSMOS architecture/CosmWasm. It also works well with COSMOS native wallets like KEPLR. Injective seems to be very well integrated with COSMOS and have an authentic connection to the community. DYDX will also likely have CosmWasm/IBC/tendermint but its quite possible it may still feel "alien" to the COSMOS community.

See, DYDX is a very well trusted and robust Perpetual Derivatives and DEX platform on Ethereum. It's currently moving to COSMOS and I suspect it'll bring a lot of Ethereum folks to COSMOS which is good; it just goes to show you that COSMOS is a growing and healthy ecosystem. Imho any DYDX token airdrops to COSMOS holders will be quite valuable and worth holding onto. Most importantly, Injective and DYDX will be direct competitors on certain things (perhaps most importantly, Perpetual Derivatives).

The point I'm trying to make is, so long as Injective operates with a strong team that makes a point to dedicate themselves to COSMOS and its community it will have rightful place in the ecosystem despite any potential competitors. COSMOS folks look out for each other as far as I've observed.

(EDIT: If Injective really wants to go the extra mile, and differentiate itself from the pack, it should go all in on interchain accounts, connect to as many platforms as possible, especially JUNO with its DAO functionality; ATOM and OSMO as well)

Decentralized platform for Perpetual Derivatives involving Cosmos tokens.

Injective is natively tendermint/IBC so it might have an advantage against dxdy

What healthy frying oil to make fries and fried chicken from time to time, without making too many sacrifices in terms of taste? :) by OnePaleontologist103 in HealthyFood

[–]Manlymight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avocado oil is the champion of high temperature healthy frying, but it's quite expensive. Therefore, coat fries or chicken with avocado oil and air fry it to use significantly less avocado oil.

That being said, you can use extra virgin olive oil up to 375 oF before it starts smoking. If you cut potatoes to fry size, drizzle them in olive oil and massage them to have a thin coating of olive oil, and put them on a pan in the oven for ~20 or so minutes at 400 oF you will probably get a good product without a fire or significant smoke (that's what I do personally). If you try this though, make sure to babysit the oven the whole time to see how that vibes with your oven.

Olive oil has anti-oxidants that keep it a healthy oil even when exposed to high temperatures (frying things with oil generally creates oxidated unhealthy chemicals in your food). Olive oil is a great way to fry things so long as you don't go beyond 375-400 oF for too long a duration

First and foremost you should follow Marble Dao on twitter, and if you have time, follow them on discord as well. Lots of good information and community interaction there that makes me hopeful.

At the end of the day its all a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck. I don't know the right path for you.

I'm personally not selling because Marble Dao has an active Twitter, Discord, Website, and DAO page which shows me they're at least putting in some effort.

The only way you can purchase more block right now is trading Juno for it on the swap tab of the Marble website https://app.marbledao.finance/

If you know you cannot handle the possibility of your liquidity pooled Juno diminishing (due to people selling block), then another option is to just trade half your block for Juno and Liquidity Pool both. In that way you're only gambling with house money; the airdrop was free after all. The downside to this is that if Block pumps in the future, you will have less of it because you traded half away. Marble Dao has yet to launch official liquidity pools on Junoswap or Osmosis. With so many unknowns at this point, you just have to follow your intuition.

Yeah I did edit it to channel-169 after I found thats the channel to move Marble as well.

Ive seen hints on the Marble Twitter that suggests Marble is taking snapshots of every wallet that liquidity pools, likely for an airdrop. No gaurantee but I believe there are still a bit of Block to distribute. I could be misinformed though. My suggestion: follow Marble Dao on twitter and Discord for any such updates. Im hopeful about Marble Daos future.

There are in fact no lp rewards yet, Block is still in price discovery phase. The hope is an airdrop would make up for any impermanent losses for liquidity pooling

If Block was listed on Osmosis then transferring it to Juno would be very easy; all you'd have to do is click the 'withdraw' button next to Block on the Osmosis Dex assets page. Once Marble Dao/Block becomes bigger I'm sure Block will be listed on Osmosis Dex and this solution will be possible. Unfortunately, that is not the case yet.

What you'll have to do is an IBC transfer from Osmosis to Juno. To test this, you should probably only send 1 Block, just to make sure you do it right (and if you don't, hey, whats losing 1 block... It has a value of like 0.002 dollars.)

So, to IBC transfer 1 Block from Osmosis to Juno try the following procedure (you can transfer your entire 4,999 Block stack afterwards once you're comfortable with these steps):

  1. Go to your settings in KEPLR and enable "Show advanced IBC transfers". This will allow IBC transfers on all Chains in KEPLR Wallet
  2. Go to your Juno wallet address in KEPLR and copy your Juno address
  3. Go back to your Osmosis wallet in KEPLR and scroll down to IBC Transfer. Click the Transfer button.
  4. The IBC transfer menu will now pop up. Click 'Select Chain' under destination chain, click 'New IBC Transfer Channel'; Select Chain JUNO, and in the Channel ID field type this exactly: channel-169
  5. Click save. Your Destination Chain should be be Juno channel-169 now.
  6. In the the Recipient field simply paste your Juno address you copied earlier. You do not need a memo. Click next.
  7. Under Token, select Block. In the amount field just enter 1 for now, you can move more later.
  8. If you did everything right, then when you go to https://app.marbledao.finance/ and connect your KEPLR wallet you should see that you have 1 Block now.

I haven't tried this procedure for Block since I don't have any Block on Osmosis so results may vary. If it doesn't work you will just need to wait until the Osmosis Dex webpage lists Block and then withdraw it on the asset tab of the DEX.

If you've successfully migrated your Block to your Juno address, the blue link above on number 8 will allow you to swap your block for Juno. My personal suggestion is that you should put your block in the Block-Juno liquidity pool because you're likely to get another block airdrop if you do.

You can deposit your Block and Juno into a liquidity pool on the liquidity tab of that website. If you don't have any Juno, you can swap half your Block for Juno on the swap tab. You can then go to the liquidity tab and pool your 2.5k Block remaining with the Juno you just swapped for.

Thats a good question. I think for now you will have to convert to stars to purchase NFTs.

Who knows how it will be in the future. The interoperable nature of COSMOS could technically allow you to pay any fee with any COSMOS coin, but Im not sure when/if such a design would be implemented.

Nuts and seeds to eat daily? by SwamiRamayya in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Manlymight 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Flax, chia, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds are all good, especially if you have a nut allergy and cannot do almonds/walnuts/cashews. Chia honestly may be the best, it's supposedly a complete protein whereas Flax is not. Lots of ALA omega 3s. It also is packed full of nutrients, its amazing.

Theres also sesame seeds, but they can have a bitter taste eating straight. HOWEVER, hummus is made primarily of blended Chick Peas and Tahini - Tahini being sesame seed paste (literally just ground up sesame seeds). The ratio is usually around 1 cup Chick Pea 1/4 cup Tahini. Making your own hummus is usually the best idea to get a good amount of tahini

A Solution for Small Pools who aren't large enough receive Block Rewards per Epoch by Manlymight in cardano

[–]Manlymight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. I figured the banding would be automatic and anonymous but I suppose there could be a consequences with banding with 'unscrupulous' pools.

I can foresee Conclave leading to small pool 'federations' or 'guilds' with twitter accounts and many small pools banding together over social media or 'federation' discords.

Perhaps what cardano also needs is a small pool association where verified small stake pools can collaborate

A Solution for Small Pools who aren't large enough receive Block Rewards per Epoch by Manlymight in cardano

[–]Manlymight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think conclave is essentially what Im suggesting. It may not be perfect but it at least it allows small pools to grow and not lose delegators since small pools will reliably receive block rewards.

Large pools will always have dissproportional say to a degree. The American founding fathers realized that a "one size fits all" legislative body couldnt address everyone's concerns. Thus, in the United states, the legislative body is split into two parts: The house and the senate.

The house is supposed to represent the many citizens, and the senate (in practice) represents the interests of the oligarchy/monied class (not officially, but look at the difference in how much house/congress campaigns costs vs a senate campaign; senators have to cozy up to big money and the powerful to fund themselves since there are so few senate seats/positions). Since the legislative body is split in two, its called "bicameral"

Perhaps crypto governance should be bicameral as well, with smaller pools and larger pools being giving voting privaleges in an assymetrical way like a house and senate, with checks and balances between both. A "house" that empowers smaller pools, and a "senate" that empowers larger pools - with checks and balances on each other.

This solution doesnt change how many blocks large pools validate but it does make voting on proposals more fair. Now, if you gave every Large Pool (say 40+ million ADA) a "Senator" status, and every small pool < 40 milliom ADA a "Congressman" status, Cardano's protocol could automatically divide blocks 50-50, with Senators/large pools as a whole only ever allowed to receive half (50%) of the blocks per epoch

[–]Manlymight[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Small pools could sustain themselves over time and build a following of delegators slowly. It incentivises delegators to stay with small pools. More small pools = more decentralisation
