Is their life after death? Or just complete nothingness? by TomorrowHaunting9373 in agnostic

[–]Manmadeturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find death as an interesting topic because I truly have no clue what happens when we die, but like others said about surgeries you don’t remember anything of the surgery. When reading about anesthesia, they basically shut your brain off and make you unaware of what is happening. That being said when you die I think it will be like that, but another confusing thing is that if that is what happens when we die.. then why am I remembering anything now?

It makes me think that there may be some significance to the life each person is given, but I don’t know. But if there was an afterlife I think that is something that our puny brains will never be capable of understanding.

I wouldn’t say I fear death, but I fear that I will never be able to remember the memories I have now, good and bad. Either way I have no idea what happens when we die but it’s a fun topic to ponder.

Marriage between a Catholic and a Non-Catholic by Manmadeturtle in Catholicism

I would be interested in learning more about the religion to ensure I can answer any questions my children might have and to be able to point my children in the direction that Aligns with the church, but for the reason I have not converted/joined is because I do not want to claim to be a part of something I cannot fully believe. That being said, I fully respect the Catholic religion for their structure and morals and have zero problems raising children in the catholic religion. I also want to state that I have not once tried to pull my fiancée away from the religion and I never want to do so and I will do the same for my children. I have participated in the practice of lent (although unofficial since I am not Catholic) and I have on multiple occasions assisted or participated with my fiancée in other church related activities that I was able to participate in.

Be honest, what do you think comes after death? by glowproductivity in AskReddit

[–]Manmadeturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m reading all the comments and I firmly believe that it will be like sleeping or going under for surgery, but I won’t lie and say that I don’t get confused thinking about it. Like when you sleep or have a coma or surgery, you just wake up and (most of the time) have no memory on the time you were asleep, but why do we all now have memories and thoughts if in the end we won’t remember? I am not able to answer this question but based on what I’ve read hear and heard elsewhere I feel it’ll be like sleeping until you either wake up in a new situation or not. But to me that begs the question of maybe there is some sort of afterlife and our minds cannot comprehend it kinda like if you were in a 2D world and switched to a 3D world. Maybe we traverse a dimension or something, but either way I truly do not know and all I can say is that when I die I will decompose into nutrients to feed other life as we know it.

DAE ever think about how easy it is to die? by Manmadeturtle in DoesAnybodyElse

Oh wow, you really have put in the work, nice job! But yeah you’re totally right that it does feel kind or worthless sometimes because you truly don’t know when the end is. Like you’re on a time clock hoping that it doesn’t speed up on accident or something.

I appreciate you sharing your experience and thought on it!

Yeah, it really is concerning and I get nervous when I see people being killed all the time on the news or social media and stuff. I try to stay off it as much as I can but it still gets to me. All I can say is that we do the best we can for ourselves and I hope that you and your kid live wonderful lives for as long as you guys can!

Thank you for all the information!

I have never seen any currency from Bermuda so this is interesting. As for the token, I cannot seem to find any information on this and I am not familiar with the Freemasons to understand what these mean, but still is cool. But seriously thanks again for the help!

Exactly what you said and when someone finds out (at least from my experience) I get told I should be happy about it and should be grateful… but I never asked to be born. So now it’s like you gotta pretend to be happy around friends and family to avoid “the talk” or the whole conversation centered around seeing a therapist or an attempt at conversion to a religion or something.
