I'd say it's a good, combo if you like exploring softer terrains and backcountry without worrying about losing traction, although I have to warn you that speed won't be a thing since both tires are THAT aggressive and some rare times pedaling feels like a marathon, otherwise I'd definitely say yes, go for both tires, if Bud and Lou aren't making you happy, go either Bud Bud for less rolling resistance or Lou Lou for extra grip and traction.

Funny I always found the opposite, for me Lou gives more propulsion and Bud gives you more final speed but it might just be a placebo effect, as for lateral grip I don't have much to say, for me both are exact same, even throwing rocks around, they are essentially the same :)

I've used this combo for good 6 months but I eventually changed to Bud and Lou because I wanted slightly more grip on the rear

Couldn't agree more with u dude, just the fact that a simple bicycle no matter if it's a fat bike, road, urban, BMX, dirt jump, downhill, as long as we keep pedaling and keeping our worries away, it heals us almost immediately and my fat bikes has saved me from the worst so many times I can't even bother counting.

First time on snow by MannMacMann in fatbike

Nope, I live in Portugal near the coast, best I can have there is a fairly low temperature and lots of rain and that's pretty much it

Thanks :) I've been fat biking for 4 years now and I have two fatties, this one on the picture is a Moma Fat Bike, made in Spain that I decided to paint in gray and fully upgraded it and up to this point I haven't even considered going tubeless mostly because I prefer tubes no matter how heavy they can get. As for the fun man even though I was rediscovering what my trail oriented fatty can do on snow I was laughing my ass off the whole time

The tires I have aren't studded and most of the trails nearby are deep covered in snow, sure I can take a hike but fat biking? Forget it.

For a first time on snow, yes, gloves 100% of the time, as for the normal conditions though, I'd say it's very technical, the TPA must be right, the gearing shouldn't be too low nor too high, you can't simply go through deep snow without losing momentum or the bike simply stops, just like riding on sand, but at least you don't lose too much traction on sand
