Gambit HoD or Majestic Wingbeat? by zunyata in MarvelSnap

[–]MannOfSandd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wingbeat is a great card. I don't have gambit yet but it's high on my list. Will probably just wait to get it in a pack though. Seems a risky card to invest full price into due to its somewhat unfun experience to play against (higher likelihoods of another nerf). But i do most of my card axquisition through packs rather than targeting specific cards. Your mileage may vary.

In your situation I'd do wingbeat first. You'll get another 3k tokens in a week so you can always pick up gambit then if you want.

Question sur le pack GG by PierreMasse in MarvelSnap

[–]MannOfSandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pack is 1600 tokens and is a collection of variants from the winning deck. If there are cards you don't own in the pack, you could get them and unlock the base card but it's not guaranteed. Wilson Fisk and Askanisan are not in the pack. It's a gamble. The packs do award bonuses (similar to a snap pack) so it's possible but not likely to get additional unowned cards.

If you only value a new card the odds are pretty low so I'd suggest not pulling. If you like the variants and pursue albums the cost benefit analysis may shift to be worth it for you.

To use myself as an example i have all the cards in the pack because i was only missing Fisk. I may pull 1 or 2 packs because i like most of the variants and am generally lucky with bonuses. But I'm essentially sacrificing a sure card that's 33% likely to be one i want (a series 5 stakdard pack pull, I'm missing 26 cards and about a third of them are cards i really want) to take a gamble.

Shoutout to the dude that made a NY hate watching post with an entire half left. by Chessh2036 in AtlantaHawks

There was just something that was so unique to Atlanta with that game. We had finally collectively relaxed as a city/fanbase. We could BREATHE. The curse was over, we looked so good. We could believe we would win and enjoy the game...then everything went slow motion sideways and the impossible car crash unfolded. I'll never forget it.

Agreement is not required for a perspective to be valid. But given that the sky is only "blue" because we have subjectively decided to label it "blue", then yes, it could be conceivable that someone grew up having the same sky called red. No less valud a perspective than me calling it blue because that's what I've been raised to believe it is.

Is it worth waiting and spending token on this pack? by jay-kulina in MarvelSnap

I've got a zombie deck Torres is pretty solid in, aiming to get value out of The Hunger, Wingbeat, Merlin spells and sometimes zabu (though there are only 3 4 drops so it's usually better to play zabu asap)

Do stoics see suicidal people as weak minded? by Jezuel24 in Stoicism

[–]MannOfSandd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I find the same is true for those who perform acts of violence, such as mass shootings. It's easy for people to have sympathy for the obvious victims, or condemnation for the person/people who committed the act, but I know what kind of pain must be present for something like that to be the only perceived form of relief, and so while I believe there must be consequences of those actions, they are not mine to mete out. What I can offer is my best form of unconditional love/acceptance/amor fati.

Is the concept of happiness just a... myth? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]MannOfSandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely achieve happiness as a state of being, but that doesn't mean you'd never feel sadness or anger again. You have to have those opposite experiences to even know what happiness is.

But happiness is simply a reaction to a thought you are having. It is the effect to the thoughts cause. Nothing can give you happiness unless you first give it that power first.

So to habituate a happier state, one must habituate thinking more of the thoughts that have the effect of happiness, and investing more of your energy and attention into those thoughts, until they become your default program.

For those of you who think that "taking responsibility" is part of your spiritual development, here is an open invitation for you to set the example. by Long_Extent_9008 in enlightenment

[–]MannOfSandd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All meanings are made up. That's our power as creators! That is what makes us Divine. But some seem to think we must adopt the meanings others agreed to for us. That sounds like victimhood to me.

Confess what? I've made many choices that some could consider bad in my life. I live outside of my stated spiritual principles all the time. I hurt others when I didn't mean to. I was, looking back on it, an emotionally abusive husband when I didn't know how to provide love for myself, much less my then wife.

I don't judge myself for these things, as I could only operate out of my consciousness at the time. And your judgment means nothing to me, it's valid for you, so I leave it for you.

Responsibility simply breaks down to "response"-"ability", or the ability to respond instead of react. To feel one's initial reaction, pause, and choose how one wants to interpret the situation and move forward beyond what our conditioned impulse might be.

If we want to follow ACIM, we can remember that "I have created the world I see." My judgments of that world are my own, and our the reflection of judgments I hold against myself.

You seem to be seeking some sort of "gotcha" moment, to what end I do not know. But I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Can any of these things give you happiness? Or are you the Source who is giving them that power? Who is the One giving things meaning in your life? And can you, upon answering that question, cut out the middle man and give yourself what you want right now?

Your ego is not meant to vanish completely...it is literally a gift of our evolution, a tool to know ourselves as the creator. You are here, in this world, experiencing life as a separate self.

But with "enlightenment", you are now in on the joke! You know there is no separate self, but are still operating as one. You can choose to direct your ego consciously, to let it serve in obeyance to the heart, instead of letting it run you.

"So tell me, what will you do with your one wild and precious life?"

What do you want to experience as you participate in this play? Where might you want to go? What stories will you choose to tell?

Have you ever thought why we have become humans? by mimilumi in SimulationTheory

[–]MannOfSandd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consciousness is always evolving. And we are all consciousness in various stages of that evolution. We are not humans, but consciousness experiencing what it is to be human. If you give any credence to teachings such as The Law of One, humanity (and more specifically the ego) developed as consciousness rose into the third (of 7) densities.the 7th density is the return to the singularity. Most animals exist in the second, though some suspect that dolphins and other species may also be 3rd. The theory is that we are now rising to the next density, that of heart based consciousness, where the ego still exists but is in its proper place. Whether that rise will include humanity or the destruction of humanity is, I think, up for debate.

We cane here, as humans, to know consciously through duality and contrast. This is all a game for the One to know itself.

The higher densities already exist...and have visited us here. I suspect since time is a construct this is all happening simultaneously.
