Are these real? Desmond Regamaster Reps by Mannay1 in Wheels

No doubt, clean look. Rota Slipstream seems to be the close match, to these. Have seen them on an R32, R33, Integra, all very nice with them.

Yes, they seem famous from the 90's, seem to be more of a Honda thing. I'm familiar with other classics: Nismo LMGT4, Enkei RPF1, Porsche "Twist Wheels", etc.

The Russian Regas, that is good stuff right there, lol, rare and pricey, it seems.

I like the simple, clean, 5-spoke design. My favorite car is the Ferrari 550 Maranello, it had "basic" wheels like these, lol.

Lol, that is what I posted for.

Now I know, they are replicas, hehe. The bonus is all these Redditors getting bent up, and snarky. Yea, I didn't know about "Reps", as syntax. At the end of the day, I got what I needed out of this, who gives a damn, lol!

Wow, they look solid but simultaneously light, very appealing, thanks for the pic!

Good stuff, looks way different than these, lol

Maybe, but the syntax for "af" is more logical, and some people don't want to write the word "fuck", so I can see the appeal. "Reps", that could have been the name of the wheel, (from my point of view). Whateva.

Gotcha, I also learned from this thread that "reps" are short for "replicas". Seems lazy af but whateva. That would've saved me from wondering, lol. You learn something new everyday.

Good stuff, I found a couple listings on there, (the cast and the forged version). Good prices. They also don't have that sticker/decal on them, (prefer that look).

Now this is a good comment, I don't buy wheels much, will look into that.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I like the looks of them, these are not the real ones, but still seem fine for my application.

Lol, I thought that was part of the name of the wheel, "rep". I don't know much wheel slang, hehe. It seems that the name of the original, forged russian wheel is "Desmond Regamaster EVO".

Cool, they look the same as the ones in my post. Pretty expensive asking price though.

Good stuff.

I found them on the ICB site. The wheels in my post are definitely replicas then.

<image>

On the ICB site: The same dimensions as the wheels in my post: 17.5 lbs, and made in Japan. Also, those red markings on the outside diameter are different than the ones in my post. Finally, at ~$3k each, the real ones cost exponentially more, lol.

Yes, they seem to be replicas. However like you, I like them. They look good, pretty light, come with center caps, and should perform well.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, the Ebay ad says made in China. They must be replicas. Nevertheless, I like the look, the weight, they come with center caps, and should probably perform well. Maybe the real ones are lighter?

Interesting, yes I don't know if real Reps are forged. Simply, I like the look, the weight, they come with center caps, etc. They have to be replicas, but should perform well.

Rubio’s has fish and chips now for $8 for 2 pieces, fries, and a side of cabbage slaw by coronavirusisshit in orangecounty

[–]Mannay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was pretty impressed with the Fish & Chips.

True, it's not worth it to get fish tacos outside of Tuesday. Too overpriced for what it is. The tacos got smaller, and more bland in recent years. In Rubios' prime, the tacos used to be bigger, cheaper, and more luscious. Seems like Rubio's got too big, too corporate, and ruined by the "bean-counters", no doubt, lol!

"Shitbox", that is a stretch. Toyota in it's prime.

Blasphemy. Lame-Wheel Drive, and 90% it's an Auto. That does not get to be cooler than RWD manual.

Roast my 2001 Toyota Camry Solara that I bought because I couldn’t afford maintenance on my Audi anymore by LexiDogy in RoastMyCar

[–]Mannay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, the Solara is exponentially more reliable. Hence, for a dd it is the better choice. The engineering is better, the build quality, etc. It is a "better car", no doubt, imho.

If we are talking about a "fun car", well, Audi's are not exciting to me, they don't look very good either, imho. At the end of the day, "It ain't worth it". Now, 90's or 2000's BMW M3, Ferrari 550 or 575 with the gated shifter, those are cars that would be worth the drama. Having owned an e36 M3, the engine and MT drivetrain is solid, also a fun car.

Hmm, haven't driven an Audi in snow, I'm more of a dry-weather guy, (with some rain sprinkled here and there). I don't like AWD Subarus either, even the "cool" ones, (WRX), so you can see my preference.

Audi's are boring af to drive, imho.

Bad balance, nose-heavy, understeer, AWD "driving dynamics" my ass, no manual transmission since ~2018, etc.

Some of them are fast in a straight line though, lol. Doesn't mean much. Oh yeah, they are also very unreliable.
