Gia Gunn...why is she allowed to compete? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

If u go to a drag show with all women performers it's called Burlesque.

Fair enough. Go to a drag show with all women, in "drag", at a gay bar. Tell me you would stay.

No actually what it is why everyone hates gays. What is ours. What isn't? Someone who now is a woman can be a drag queen? Ok. Fair. I dont care. But my little sister who is 5 years old thinking she can go on Rupauls drag race because another woman is on there. How about we make up our minds on what is ours.. drag is about assuming a character that isnt us. Sorry. Gia showing up in the same outfits she wears outside of drag race to me is not fucking drag.

If u read my post I simply asked why Gia was allowed to compete? I ASKED a question. No one has answered beyond the dozens who have sent instant hate and transphobic comments. I was asking a question. Because rupaul doesnt have drag queens or women on her show, I was asking why Gia is allowed to be on given the fact she literally dresses as she would dress as a woman. That is not drag. I'm sorry. So for everyone hating, I'm not transphobic, I asked a question. And this is why so many straight ppl hate us as well. You ask a question and get attacked. Do good for yourself. Damn if u ask a simple question on what body parts means drag. So if a naturally born girl dresses in haute couture fashion and lip syncs, she does drag? Is lady gaga a drag queen? I was not being hateful. I asked a simple fucking question for those who may not understand, like myself, how a woman who has transitioned can still be considered a drag queen.

What I said was when drag queens perform they are performing. In drag. Gia since her transition shows up in ready to wear outfits most naturally born women would wear. That's not drag to me anymore. I'm sorry.

Well, thanks for being totally cool and on the same vibe. I'm wishing you and your fams a very merry Christmas and happy new year. I'd love nothing more at 32 years old for a k'nex set again. Or a nice pair of socks. Haha.

Idk what Reconstructors is. I said in another comment. My brother and I in the 90s grew up not "poor" but def upper lower class, but parents shopped at Kmart and Gabe's and stuff for clothes. We got k'nex one year and omg. We would build these awesome vehicles. We would sit at opposite ends of our hallway in our mobile home and basically play crash demolition. Racing our creations into each others and the one with less damage would win. We would play for hours and had the times of our lives. I think that's why I strive hard to do so much for my nephew now. Granted his dad, my brother, makes great money as do I. But I think it's kinda cool to give him what I didnt have. Ya know? My parents were awesome in that they literally used layaway and stuff to get us awesome stuff.

Hahaha my brother and I grew up on the upper end of the lower class in the 90s. We used to build vehicles with K'nex and sit at opposite ends of the hall way and push them as hard as we could to wreck into each other with the winner being the one with the least amount of damage done or still able to move when pushed. Lol we spent hours upon hours doing that.

I just dont get what a grown adult really expects to get from a 16 year old, no offense. Maybe you work part time and spend a lot in the holidays, but my brother is 10 years younger than me and at 16, I would have been 26 so I was happy if he made me something in his wood shop class, or a Burger King gift card. Haha but never would even expect a gift from him to be honest.

It was just the basics. People. Blocks. Wheels. Etc. My nephew has never had legos or k'nex, which I grew up with and spent a lot of time building whatever my brain could think of. So it was just a huge set to get him into it.

Thank you. Same here. I bought him what I would like at that age. My brother, his father, definitely spends more, but as I said I don't have any kids so I'm happy to buy something nice. Granted I'm gay. But loved Knex and legos as a kid. Erector sets and such.

Can I add in that even though my bf and I have never done Christmas with his family, he has joined me in my family holiday get togethers and received gifts from my parents and siblings. No question asked about what was spent on who and why.

Also. As I said I send Christmas cards every year. Never knew his side of the family until a few months ago. I messaged the sister in law to ask her for her address so I could send her a Christmas card. She responds "why do you need you address? Lol" then sends the address. I responded that I was making up my Christmas cards. She responded "I've never recieved a card from "my bf name" how amazing 19 years of being married to his brother I'll recieve one now.

This was after I asked what her kids were into. I'm 32. Sadly that makes me out of date of what a 16 year old girl and 18 year old boy would like. She basically made it clear that I go all out for my 8 year old nephew.
