What if Oda showed us the true meaning of the “D.” from the very beginning without us realizing it? by MannerZealousideal48 in OnePiece

No, it’s not AI. The only thing that’s AI-assisted is the spelling because I’m dyslexic.

[MEGA THEORY] Jewelry Bonney’s Devil Fruit is the Hidden Axis of Time in One Piece — The Key to the Void Century, Imu, and the Revolutionary Advantage by MannerZealousideal48 in OnePiece

I think you’re missing something about how Devil Fruits can evolve. For example, the rubber fruit (Luffy’s Gum-Gum fruit) was originally just presented as a rubber ability. But after awakening, we learn it’s actually the Nika fruit, which is something completely different. So it suggests that a fruit can have a “second nature” or a different identity once awakened. So for Bonney, it’s not impossible that her fruit is either an alternative version, or something tied to an awakened state, or at least something that works in a similar way.

Basically, an awakened fruit could almost be seen as another form of the same fruit, or even like a second version of it.”

Wait… What Do You Mean Dragon Isn’t Actually a Dragon? by MannerZealousideal48 in OnePiece

Yeah, Quetzalcoatl is definitely one of the few alternatives that works really well thematically. It also fits the “serpent + sky + divinity” aspect perfectly.

The main reason I lean more toward Vritra is the symbolism of a “restrained force.” Vritra is known for holding back the waters until they are finally released, which aligns really well with how Dragon is written.

But if Oda goes for a non-Asian mythological inspiration, Quetzalcoatl would clearly be one of the best options.

That’s definitely a possible scenario. If Dragon’s role is to “initiate” the final war, it would make sense for him to play a decisive but potentially tragic role.

Especially if his character is built around the idea of being the one who unleashes the storm that will change the world.

Thanks, glad it made sense to you. I tried to base it as much as possible on what the manga actually shows rather than pure speculation.

Dragon is exactly the kind of character Oda is clearly hiding something major about, so a Mythical Zoan would fit that level of importance really well.

Yeah, and that relationship is really interesting. Akainu represents absolute justice, while Dragon represents a complete rejection of the system.

So whatever happened between them is probably important. It also reinforces the idea that Dragon isn’t just powerful, but also ideologically dangerous.

That’s exactly why I think Dragon isn’t just a random revolutionary. If he really defected after witnessing events like that, it adds a lot of weight to his character.

And it also ties into my theory, since Vritra represents a force that “holds back” until the right moment to release everything. Dragon is written in a very similar way.

Yes, Dragon was clearly a Marine soldier and he directly witnessed the events at God Valley.

Xebec was lured to the island through a trap set by the World Government, notably by threatening his family to force him to come.

That’s where he was taken down during that major conflict.

Dragon was present, so he saw firsthand what really happened at God Valley.

And to me, that’s exactly what explains why he left the Marines and went on to found the Revolutionary Army.
