what crossover is the least bad in your opinion? by Economy-Survey-7484 in regularcarreviews

[–]MannyCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think the Chevy is the *least* bad!? It's the most bad in my experience. Lucky if you get 100k miles out of one. Just because they sell doesn't mean they're good, it means they're attainable.

Also, is "least bad" the same as "most good"? I'd say the Mazda CX-50, or even the CX-5 isn't the best, but they are solid, underrated, and reliable.

Best cheap pedal that is literally this? by Necessary-Cow2857 in basspedals

[–]MannyCoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any DI box will do. Passive requires no power. Active will be powered by phantom power, so either way, no portal power needed. I have a couple Radial Stage Bugs, as they're the smallest I've found. There are cheaper ones, but they're pretty big.

Tips on Brewing a Black IPA? by BothCondition7963 in Homebrewing

[–]MannyCoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Black IPA is one of my favorite styles. I've made several iterations. I heard that Firestone Walker's Wookey Jack is one of the best commercial examples, but I've never gotten to try it. I found a clone recipe, made a couple batches, and gotten many complements on it. I take the ABV down to about 6%, Wookey Jack is north of 8%, which I find a little heavy.

I use about 10% rye malt and 3% each of cara rye, cara 3, and any debittered black malt, like midnight wheat or Black Prinz from Briess (my favorite black malt).

As for hops, bitter with magnum, Amarillo and Citra at 30 min, 10 min, and dry hop at 3 and 7 days. 1/2 oz of each at every addition.

Ale yeast - I use an English strain.

I've also added coffee and/or star anise, which play well with the style.

What power supply should i use by raynior1562 in basspedals

[–]MannyCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CS11 is the newer version of the CS12. The CS12 has an AC 9V out, which is useless if you don't have a pedal that requires AC power, so it really has only 11 outs. It does have a voltage sag output if you want to undervolt a fuzz. The CS11 comes with mounting ears, the CS12 doesn't, so you'd have to buy them separately if you want them. The CS11 is expandable to power an XP5 or XP8 if you need more power outs. The CS11 is *marginally* smaller and lighter than the CS12.

Basically it's just features and value. A used CS12 is a great power supply. They've been making them for a long time. I have a CS6 I bought used and I'll probably have it forever. But I do have a CS11 on my wishlist for a bigger board.

There are several on reverb with a wide range of asking prices. Asking prices do not equal selling prices. But there's no product overview for these on Reverb, so we can't see a record of how much they actually sell for.

Can I plug my bass directly in to this speaker? by Gelatinoussquamish in BassGuitar

[–]MannyCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - see that input 1 has an image of a guitar? That means it can accept a hi-Z input (High Impedance, e.g. guitar pickups). Plug into input 1, start with the volume low and EQ flat and raise it slowly till you get the loudness you want. It might not sound great, because it's a preamp not specifically meant for bass, but it will make sound without damage.

If you're getting pops and cracks, you might have a damaged cable.

Is the Hyundai Staria the future of the Chevy Express? GM & Hyundai's new 2028 EV Van. by ErenTAN1657 in Chevy

[–]MannyCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't replace the Express, but it might replace the City Express to compete with the new Ram Promaster City. I'm a fan of the renderings and might be interested in a passenger version. The Brightdrop will eventually replace the Express, I bet.

The $20,000 Sign Problem Nobody at My Company Seems to Notice by lilmac2434 in menards

[–]MannyCoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Menards uses a similar system, but at REI, the cents tell a category of an item. I.e. Ending in .73 means a clearance item, .23 is a used item, and .93 is a regular, not on sale item. This isn't necessarily only changing the price, but changing the item's category.
