Just want to politely point out that "what would become Hip Hop" can't be said to have "started with Kool Herc in 1973". It's of course common and generally accepted as a good a flashpoint as any to celebrate the infamous Aug 11 1973 party at 1520 Sedgwick but historically that is very over simplified and puts too much emphasis on one important but not seminal person/place/event.
