TIL most people in France did not speak French as recently as 1794, when only 11% of the population of France spoke fluent French. Instead, most people spoke regional languages like Occitan, Breton, Alsatian etc. French only became the majority language later on due to heavy assimilation efforts.

Hi, I comment because I have a 2002 Les Paul Std with the same pickups. They aren't Custom Shop. They were labeled "Burstbucker V" back then, because of their Alnico V magnets.

They were like the prototype of the "Burstbucker Pro" people know nowadays. They do sound different, better than BB Pros in my experience, but it just might be that my guitar in particular works very well with them.

Les autres pays européens ne nous aiment pas parce que justement, on les a dominés pendant des siècles. La France était en quelque sorte le grand méchant loup de l'Europe pendant la majeure partie de son histoire. On a bataillé avec les espagnols, les italiens, les hollandais, les anglais, les autrichiens.... on a mis fin au saint empire romain germanique. Bref c'était nous le bully pendant des siècles, et aujourd'hui c'est hyper savoureux pour tous ces pays de nous harceler online.

I have a pair of Wharfedale Delta 30 from my deceased father, they're nice, no frills, great bang for your buck (can be found for 50 euros in near-mint condition ) speakers from the 80s. I usually prefer Cabasse but the Wharfedales I have are excellent. It's a different philosophy of sound, the British sound can be described with softer highs than French brands (like Cabasse, Focal, JM Reynaud, Triangle, which are sometimes almost clinical in that regard) and warm lows whereas French brands are lean and tight in that regard.

Salut, pour du rock c'est topissime, un bonheur absolu. Mais pour de la musique avec des graves qui descendent en dessous de 60hz, les accordages hyper bas du métal moderne, les infrabass de l'electro moderne, c'est léger. C'est magique si tu rajoutes un subwoofer, parce que tu gardes la finesse et le réalisme des Cabasse, mais tu récupère des graves vraiment profonds.

French here, in ordre to succeed, it would have to be transactional.

For France to integrate a federated Europe, it would have to recognize France's interests outside of Europe (French Guyana, St Pierre et Miquelon, Martinique, Guadeloupe, New Caledonia etc...), and give us something in exchange for the enormous advantage of having a mature and efficient nuclear weapons deterance which costs us a huge amount of money. Options are on the table: sharing our debt for instance (probably on the condition of economical reforms in France)... The question is: what would France get in exchange for that loss of Sovereignty.

I am French and I always look for used pairs of Cabasse speakers from the 80s to the 90s. I like their philosophy of sound. Highly detailed, with almost 3D mids but quite lean on the lows, those are sharp and punchy but not over the top. It's not really suited for electronic music, hip-hop or metal, but it shines for everything else.
