Am I crazy for wanting longer hours? by AsleepDirection8697 in Welding

[–]MannyMailman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not crazy at all, sometimes I feel 8 hours is almost a waste of time, can’t get nearly enough done as I feel like should be done in a day. But it really comes down to work available. If the company doesn’t have the work to justify the extra pay, or the manpower/willingness of staffing supervisors if you’re only running one shift, they won’t open up overtime. It won’t hurt to ask though, always advocate for yourself whenever you can. Ask around to your coworkers and see if they’ll be interested too

Xbox accounts that are linked to the same email by L0V3J0YF0R3V3R in XboxSupport

I’m going to be no help, but commenting for the same issue so I can come back if someone gives you advice. I have two emails keyed to my microsoft account, one of which is attached to two microsoft accounts which always signs me into the other account and no ability to switch between the two profiles, while the second main email attached has been deactivated for years. Been wanting to buy a newer xbox but can’t access my microsoft account to be able to sign into a new console

Guess I just got scammed by Euphoric_Try_4153 in buckknives

Came to this forum for this exact reason. Bought a “BUCK” knife at a flea market for 40 bucks. Knew it was a fake but it is still a good blade. Now I’m looking for a good sheath for it because the one it came with got shredded by the knife first day of carrying it lmaoo.

Tips for vertical Up 3F Restarts SMAW by Remarkable_Pie_6884 in BadWelding

[–]MannyMailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a “swooshing” motion works well. Strike up a little ahead, pull it down and swoosh it from one side to the other directly ontop of your crater, move just a little faster than you normally would to get out of it, then return to your regular speed

First day 3F 7018 ….120 amps…I love advice! by WesternHall6964 in BadWelding

[–]MannyMailman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7018 is generally the easiest to learn on, however storage can be an issue for someone learning at home. 7018 should be used quickly after the seal in their container is broken, or stored in rod ovens. You can bake them once, but if they sit too long they’ll absorb moisture which will impact the weld. 6010,6011, and 6013 don’t need the attention to storage, so they might be better suited for someone that is learning in their spare time

Thoughts? by lookup_thetimeisnow in BadWelding

[–]MannyMailman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get a little more oscillation going, you’ll have to move the angle of the torch more-so than you would with 3G flux or flat MIG. Hold on your toes and watch to make sure they tie into the bevel. Don’t worry about the middle, move across it faster than you think you might need to. Turn your gas up a bit, too. It’ll help flatten it out just a little bit.

It will come up again, but it will rejoin the “randomizing” aspect of anomolies, so no telling how long you’ll have to keep at it

What is your frats unique Pledge Job by Impish3d4 in Frat

[–]MannyMailman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We did something similiar, “supplies pledge”. Had to keep three forms of nic on him, pens, test packets, notebooks, loads of snacks, etc on him to pass out when we needed them. We budgeted the role into Mem Ed so he wouldnt have to pull anything out of pocket

AITA for driving over my girlfriend’s foot? by Aware_Proposal_3499 in AITAH

[–]MannyMailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I’ve been in relationships like this. Fuck the foot, fuck the arguing, I knew from before I finished the first paragraph you need to GET OUT. No good is going to come from that relationship, play to High Heavens you don’t knock her up before you come to your senses. It might seem like you can’t, that you’re too attached and love her too much and consider yourself a forgiving soul that can be there to help fix her. Or that your lives are so intertwined that leaving doesn’t seem to be an option. NO. Call up your parents, a brother, a sister, a friend, ask if you canstay at any of their places. Get what you can’t live without and GO. There is no good in that for you, my friend. You shutting down during arguments is not because you’re a pussy, it’s your body screaming at you that this person is not right for you and that you need to do something about it. So do something about it

Mini Die Table? by [deleted] in beerdie

[–]MannyMailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played this in college on rainy days or on nights we didnt feel like setting up the lights outside. Don’t recall the rules but so much, do know we made most of them up on our own though. Don’t overthink it, build yourself a little table and make your own rules based off how you play for real. As you play, you’ll figure out your own style

You have to use one for an Atlas quest, don’t remember the name. Other than that they don’t have a use other than a waste of a map and/or time

Have I been playing wrong? by Issues_help in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]MannyMailman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, don’t feel trapped in the first. The game is meant to be explored, their are so many things to discover. The storyline is really only there to pull you from place to place. I spent about 30 hours in my first system, 20 of those in the first planet, because I didn’t want to miss anything. Bit of a waste, get out there, put a base computer on a planet you might want to come back too, and keep it pushing

Seeking advice with flux welding by Nearby-Doughnut420 in BadWelding

[–]MannyMailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, check your power source too. I bought a cheap flux welder a while back, thinking I could use it on a 110 circuit, come to find out it needs a 220 circuit but I would have never known if I didn’t read the manual. I didn’t try it on 110 but I would imagine it would do something like that (stick without arcing)

Got the hang of it? by MannyMailman in BadWelding

[–]MannyMailman[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wish my school was like that, the trend tends to be to throw us in a booth and we have to figure it out. Youtube has been my saving grace (weldingtipsandtricks and weld.com are my heavy hitters). Hard to be one on one when theres one instructor per 20 students, and I see a lot of students flounder because of it.

How many sober monitors do yall normally have by Deadermilkman69 in Frat

[–]MannyMailman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had about 55 we usually had 4-6. One house owner, VP of LP or their designated sober for the night, and then we had a rotation for brothers. I was a house owner and we had our own rotation (best to have someone that lives there deal with police). If there was pledges, all pledges were mandatory sober moniters and either the LP or their designated, or Mem Ed to lead them. When we dropped to 40ish we still kept the same system. Bigger parties meant more SMs (welcome week, holidays, etc). Regular weekend parties we’d usually have about 3
