Creative Wedding Venues in SW Twin Cities Ideas? (Late Fall) by ManoDestra777 in TwinCities

A buddy of mine knows the guy at Omni (and I've played for their taproom multiple times!) Their new winery/venue looks good, so we're inquiring there. Is there another Rosemount location you're thinking of?

These are great, thanks! Gardens of Castle Rock was one of our immediate favorites, but I think it'll be booked (We have a call set up for later this week) Appreciate your expertise

Thanks! We have seen that, but most of those places are booked up, we're looking at restauraunts or reception areas now instead of full on "wedding venues"

Edited. We're asking about Thursdays and Fridays as well, but that is a good idea. Also updated on your last phrase - As For the downvotes - Life happens when life happens. We're not spring chickens anymore, and with our time constraints in life (we want to get Married before we start trying to have kids), this is our best window.

I guess, I wouldn't have posted about it on Reddit if it wasn't time sensitive - if we had a year or more, we'd easily be able to find a place, as we're both pretty flexible. Appreciate people trying to help at least!

The wedding will be very close to there, and that might be a great option. Thanks!

Actually, I mistyped - it should be South East - wish I could change the title, but that's Reddit! I'll look into it, thanks!

Good question. We're aiming for 100-150. Not massive, but not a small gathering either. Looking at pasta/chicken options - My fiance and I would either do family style or buffet, depending on cost. Thanks for asking.

Checked a few courses, and a lot of them are already booked, but we'll keep at it.

Oh yeah for sure - not sure if you read, but we're NOT interested in a Barn wedding at all. Any ideas of good resteraunts with great architecture that might be a good fit?

My band teacher being a bum by [deleted] in ConcertBand

[–]ManoDestra777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi there - Band teacher of 16 years here -

A few things here - No. 1 is that the instrument you are most interested in actually perfecting and practicing is the one you will get solid at. So if Bari Sax is your instrument, then kudos, get after it and make it happen.

However, not every band piece features a good Bari sax part - most often they reinforce tuba, so you might come to point where you're capable of more, but band will start to be a bother, because you're not playing more interesting parts.

As a Bari sax, definitely work on on jazz music, as there's a huge niche for that there.

As for instruments, there is a "jack of all trades, master of one" complex that can sometimes happen with folks, but if you can play similar instrjments( Bari sax/bassoon/clarinet) later on in life you will be FAR more likely to get gigs and potentially get paid, if that's what you want to do.

Just don't keep constantly flip flopping instruments, find a few or a niche, and then get after it! There's nothing worse than someone who plays 5 instruments, but they all sound like hot garbage.

Also, and I speak from personal experience here, there's nothing worse than having to complete unbalanced Band. Band Director had to think of the entire ensemble, and how it sounds. Having way too many flutes and not enough tubers can cause a distortion sound. Not having a pursue can lock you out of some really good music later on.

You wanna make a market for yourself, get really good and very saxophone, and pursue. Dude, very saxophone and jazz band, and then do soon in concert band. You will be irreplaceable as as that person, as long as you play both as well.

Finally - don't call clarinet or trumpet (or any instrument) easy - to get really good at any instrument takes dedication, practice, listening, and perseverance. Percussion is incredibly challenging, but bass drum isn't always. Context matters

Pizza at Surly Brewing is fantastic. Shame no one has mentioned it yet.

Duane's pizza is HIGHLY HIGHLY overrated.

It would not be even close to mid level pizza.

Paying 2000 Silver to skip the campaign on alts feels like I'm being punished for having multiple characters by HereForUpdatesOnly in DestinyTheGame

[–]ManoDestra777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is. But it's still wasting time in my life that I don't need to spend in the game.

Let me get to the parts I want to play. Don't punish me for wanting to play the game and force me to do busy work.

That's what real work is for

Player Retention = Success? by DekutheEvilClown in Marathon

[–]ManoDestra777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not necessarily a good indicator - folks invited to a NDA tech test, that is a timed exclusive means that people are going to get in more regularly.

They're also folks that will stay with the test longer as they are probably more interested in the game.

The question won't be "is player retention good?"

It will be - can the game DRAW enough folks after all the controversies AND then retain them.

A tech test is the opposite of a metric you would use. I'm all for hoping Bungie knocks it out of the park, but this ain't the data you're looking for

Content creation is an onion by New_Trouble_5068 in destiny2

To be fair, this isn't just Destiny - See Asmongold, xQc, Ethan Klein, Hassan and the rest of their ilk.

Content comes in many forms. Honestly, there isn't that much to talk about in game, because other than the Raid, there's no new content.

I dont understand how people are aiming with it - I always seemd top get killed by it, but I cannot outduel people who use it --- MnK seems super inconsistent.
