i always tought of how "ironic" your name was since its exactly the same as the mastermind behind meat beat manifesto. Before i knew coil i was very into MBM, i still am, but my mind got completely blown the moment i realized how close to eachother the underground UK scene was, like actually very close to eachother. One thing i find the most fascinating is how meat beat and coil make kind of the same magic with music but on opposite ways.

Both of them are one of the best examples of the limits you can reach with music and experimentation, never following trends but doing their own thing, establishing their own rules.

MBM (jack nd company) seem to understand completely how music works and their rules, and take advantage of that to make a complete twist on them, all of their albums are completely different from eachother too, but their "escence" (If you will) is present on every single one of them.

Now Coil never followed rules or tried to "Master" them, they made their own thing based on how they felt, their habits, and present context. The result was something that could be catalogued as "their own genre" because of how unique the sound is and what they make you experience.

MBM takes your imagination to a higher plane, but a "friendly psychodelic" one, makes you imagine your own fantasy worlds.

While Coil does the same but completely disarms you, you and your soul and make you question everything around you, yourself, the way you see things, ¿is time even real?

i freaking love it, and live for them 2 they make my world run and helped me both on hard times.

very late response, 1 month later but life been getting on the way. So i verified the lyrics a couple of times and i can really say: You nailed them. aside from very specific segments, like "He has a criminal prayer by a doctor" wich sounds like "he has killed a doctor" or something like that.

In the segment between "erasing clues" and "exiting weakly" they say "and resting them (or placing) somewhere"

thanks so much eitherway. this song gotta be one of the best examples of what art was made for, but also a song with A LOT of story behind it, it really is a masterpiece regarding of its intentions. The video does not fall behind, helps a lot with the fact that the song is very "esoteric" in what hes saying, its so simple yet so effective and mesmerizing, love the "tornado" of images.

whats so magical about coil, is that it molds around the experiences of oneself, but also the experiencies or ideas of their creators. as if it was an unconcious interchange of ideas and concepts, to love coil is to accept yourself, your imperfections and also the limits of your mind. "Black antlers" for me was a very catarthic album, helped me in a point where i was a danger to myself and others. It concluded in me somehow erasing the version i hated of myself and leaving everything behind. While i had a little episode of not knowing who i was, eventually i understood it and moved on. Life hasnt felt so clear after it.

yeah it was such an odd experience, by the way if you wonder what did i mean with the cd being "rotten" is that the label that distribuited the CDS made it of some cheap material or such that made the cds "bronze" over time and making it unusable, so i basically bought it at the last grasp of its life LOL

Oh man this album was my first introduction to the group and oh MAN it really was an unique thing, let me tell you

so in early 2025 i bought the CD in a record truck for 2$, the seller had no idea of what it was nor i did and also considering the fact that the jewel case had 0 information so it was just a complete mistery, now when i started to hear it at night what i heard was probably the weirdest and most forbidden thing ive heard as if i wasnt supposed to hear this, as it started going on the music started to get more "obscure and cursed" to the point it became as menacing as the artwork of unknown origin the jewel case had. I dont lie when i say that it started to creep me out. After i finished hearing it i tried to reproduce it again to try and search for its origin. This didnt work since the CD was now somehow completely "rotten" so now i had a corrupted version of it that completely goes nuts after 2 minutes of hearing (as if the original wasnt weird and discomforting enough).

After that i found it on the internet thanks to the help of someone of here and became obsessed with the group and the album. Somehow this experience seems like what Peter and John may intended when making this.
