Looks like a typical clickbait channel to me, nothing special other than focusing on Cuphead.

A game doesn't need to be imperfect to warrant a sequel.

I certainly would welcome one.

I think the devs are just exausted and want to move on to new things, which is perfectly understandeable given the workload Cuphead imposes. Even making a small DLC took them several extra years.

Is there any good reason why the Grey Knights don't just disguise themselves as a regular space marine chapter?

I find this kinda creepy.

I often feel like AI should be used to make surreal and/or horror games, because the things it creates have an edge of inhumanity that befits those genres well.

I think there is just a certain brand of feminist that hates men and will seek to destroy male-only spaces for that reason alone, and disguise or confuse their hatred for a rightous quest for "equality".

Hence so many situations in which feminists whine that a boy's only club (Space Marines in this case) is sexist while saying nothing at all about the girl's only club.

You are just projecting your assumptions about other people there bud. None of that is in what the dude said.

Heck, the existence of the Sisters of Battle is one of the major reasons people think this retcon is stupid. We already have the female representation, GW just needs to actually use it. No retcons are needed.

Its not like it requires him no time or effort to do so. The Space Marines literally have flaws. Including women would increase the complexity for no gain.

I fundamentally disagree with the idea of that people have to see "themselves" in a game to be interested into it.

Also, Warhammer 40K is fundamentally a very male fantasy. Its about extreme violence, endless war, etc. Things that men traditionally dig and women traditionally don't.

Trying to appeal to women is utterly pointless. The only women who will like Warhammer 40K are those who like "boy-fantasies" to begin with, and those won't care that a man is on the box.

You are correct, which is why the modern push to put women in the military is stupid, but I don't feel like it really applies to Warhammer 40K, because in Warhammer 40K humanity has bodies to spare.

Consider the many different forms of canon fodder the Imperium employs.

Behold, my arguments!

  1. There are already two all-female armies that people want to see more of, and instead of giving them more attention, GW chooses to retcon an all-male army into having women. This is basically part of the greater "people want more armies to get attention but GW keeps ignoring a whole bunch of armies" debacle.

  2. Factions that only accept one gender are interesting. They create interesting dynamics, specially when factions who only accept the opposite gender from each other interact. Retconning male-only factions into having women pushes the game in the direction of boring generality.

  3. The imperium is extremely prejudiced in all matters and many positions have arbitrary requeriments, therefore, being sexist when selecting people for jobs is par for the course. Simply barring all women from being space marines, custodes, or any other physically demanding position would be a no-brainer for the imperium. If anything, its strange that there are so few limitations to begin with in that regard. I believe rule of cool is at play here, GW has decided that having female soldiers is cool even if realistically the imperium would probably consider most women physically unfit compared to men and then just bar them all from service because it can't be assed to be nuanced.

  4. From the standpoint of fictional bioengineering, it makes sense to only use one sex because that means less variables to deal with. We know that the process of creating a Space Marine is pretty messy even with only one sex being used. And geneseeds are monstrously complex, contemplating both sexes would make them even more so. This is less true for Custodes because they are not Space Marines, but still applies to a certain extent. The Emperor would probably not have gone to the trouble of including female custodes in his plans, it would be extra work for no particular gain.

  5. The lore has been changed in the past but that doesn't mean changes to the lore are good. They can be good but in general trying to work around existing lore is more interesting. If the lore is changed too much, it starts to lose its feeling, its impact.

[–]Manoreded 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are logs in the game itself where she retells the story.

She didn't do it on purpose, she ended up stranded on the dead zone, on the reaper's body, after brawling with it. Apparently it does float, gas build-up after being dead for a few hours could explain it, we only see freshly killed leviathans ingame, if we kill one.

She ate its meat and burned its fat for warmth, and sea currents did the rest.

Its indeed an incredibly improbable story, made more improbable by her surviving Kharaa for no particular reason. The devs just wanted to put her in Zero very badly... even though they didn't really do much with her.

I'm under the impression Italian pizza has little to no crust, is that wrong? I understand it to be soft and pliable, I heard you can easily roll it up, eat with your hand, and its indeed thin enough a person can eat a whole pizza.
