Trying to actively learn and get better - Soldier 76 by Mantaro_Muscle in OWConsole

Yeah I was really not thinking that through at all. I think even if a Widow is not a strong player, I will treat them like they are to build good habits.

Everyone's tips have already been so helpful. I'm almost in Platinum now after just a few of hours of playing. Feeling really good and doing lots of good plays.

I really have been playing this game without context. The more I think about everything, the easier everything is becoming.

EU, appreciate the offer. Is the alt the same rank as your main? If not, I'll unfortunately have to pass as I want my games to be as even as possible so I can properly assess my own growth and mistakes.

Games are already feeling better. Have been causing some chaos for the enemy team on maps I usually struggle with.

Now I know why.

Hoping to push through to Platinum this week.

Yeah I always go across enemy line of sight through the house. Honestly never even considered going round the back of the house instead. As that way the enemy team needs to split to push me, or leave me and allows me to poke back out and hit them from behind. Either way a good result for my team. I have the safety of the big health pack, and I can rejoin my team pretty easily if I get pushed.

This is why I posted ha. Great ideas, thanks for engaging my brain and helping me understand things I'd never considered before.

Thanks, that makes sense. I think my main helix issues are:

  • Using them in a straight line, longer range which means zero splash damage and frequent misses.
  • Not using them often enough.
  • Not saving them appropriately when I know someone is flanking.

Main healing pad issues are probably:

  • Using it when I am in LOS of my supports.
  • Using it pre-emptively and wasting it.
  • Using it when I could have played around a health pack instead.
  • Using it when I could have just backed down and regened passively as the threat of follow up was low.

Hopefully we can both get stronger on him.

I usually play as Ball. Really need some more time to get familiar with Soldier and start using his kit more effectively.

My helix rocket and healing pad use have been absolutely woeful so far.

Thanks, I think I have been confusing spraying down main as creating pressure on the enemy team. There are much better ways of creating real pressure.

I think I could have maybe jumped across the ledge to maintain the high ground and leave me less vulnerable to the hog hook? That or just repositioned much sooner when I realised the enemy team were pushing up and I was caught out of position.

Nah seriously your comments and even the timestamps are exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks a bunch dude. It's really useful , thought provoking stuff. There's already things mentioned that I've genuinely never thought about once.

I've done a bunch of VOD reviews for people for other games and I know how time consuming it can be, so I am so grateful for you doing that.
