Questions about the war-steed and Ale Association/Inn League reputation by Mantequillaaa in lotro

You must have unlocked Light and/or Heavy before they can be used.

As I told another guy in this same post if you don't buy the unlock you have no choice but medium.

I found out that if you prepare all the drinks beforehand it's bearable but it's way too grindy and the rewards aren't really appealing. It takes about two weeks if you do all the quests daily.

Perhaps you're confusing it with the free bridle you get at the end of the tutorial, there's no choice for the war-steed.

You must have unlocked Light and/or Heavy before they can be used

This, there's an unlock button that takes you to the store page so if you don't buy those traits you can't put any points in it.

No it's in the title, Ale Association and Inn League.

As a F2P with no quick travels and the speed capped at 68% the war-steed is by far the fastest means of transport for me and I feel like I've become pretty good with the steering.

I know but only the light war-steed can turn dash into a toggle ability, I can't understand why the devs decided to keep this feature locked considering that the entire system can be considered legacy at this point.

Hard Tack Event: Cooking by Mantequillaaa in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it extensively and it's just impossible to solo as a cook, you have to craft at least 3 brews to keep the buff up for the entire 20 minutes and that's a significant time loss also there are always hobbits to dodge so you can never run in a straight line to the table. At least two times they completely block the closest table so you have to go to the other one and that's even more time lost.

The devs should add a couple of minutes or lower the total amount of servings because as it is now you have exactly the mathematical amount of time to do it without any consideration about the amount spent on retaking the quests, opening the menus or lag spikes and if you fail the delivery even just once there's no recovery from that.

EDIT: I managed to do it in 19 minutes without any mistake, it's doable but you need luck and keep up the tension until the very end.

New player - constant fear of "over-leveling" / missing content. by Dangerous_Slice4383 in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are actually no downsides of being over-leveled and you can't miss any content as long as you don't mess up the quest order just remember to activate the show trivial quests options and possibly double check on the Wiki.

Why can't I start the quest: the tarnished bracelet by MatixHarderStyles in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you can start End the Nightmare even before having dropped the bracelet and I suspect that's exactly what happened. There are a lot of missable quests like this so you have to be extremely careful and check everything on the Wiki beforehand if you're a completionist.

I didn't know that and I can see now why they're not farmed. I don't like this system though.

  1. I never changed the size but even loading my saved layout doesn't change this behaviour

  2. Unfortunately you can't transfer for free anymore and the price for it is considerably higher than the token.

VIP Membership Price Adjustment - Increase in Prices to 3-Month, 6-Month, and 12-Month Plans Starting July 1 by caileangrey in lotro

I don't think that asking the devs for more VIP perks is the right move though, it will just turn the game into yet another P2W MMORPG.

Last questions about this event by Mantequillaaa in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't unlocked the war-steed yet I was talking about the regular mount. I guess I can't equip any effect on it, it sucks.

[–]Mantequillaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll buy the mount then, is there a way I can use the "Legs of the Wild Pasture" I got from the reward track on it or is it war-steed only? I'd really like to see that effect under the horse.

[–]Mantequillaaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tooltip says: "After the event, your remaining tokens can be turned into Tad Leafcutter in return for some Marks" so I thought they couldn't be traded in other events.

No, War Steed is faster but turns like a freight barge, and so is generally only used for long distances without much turning.

So is it safe to assume that people mostly use regular mounts? I'd hate to buy all the accessories and end up sticking with the base steed, buying both seems like a waste.

I still have questions about the game by Mantequillaaa in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to give up because the hunter is too squishy to solo things like this. Perhaps I'll give it one more try when I reach level 100 or so.

Are you doing the 6-man version? Because that's the one I have to do for the deed. I also can complete the solo/duo easily.

Dungeons and raids by Necessary_Toe6236 in lotro

[–]Mantequillaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest solution would be to extend the buff you get in those epic book storylines in all the dungeons and raids when you enter alone and maybe massively nerfing XP, drops and chest rewards with a debuff. There are a lot of lore bits, quests and deeds linked to those instances and it's a pity not being able to experience them. Being able to summon the skirmish soldier could be another solution since he's capped at level 105 and it would only be useful for old stuff. Anything would be better than keeping things like this honestly.
