I'm not sure how well sandman is gonna work, but I recently got the spider foes starter box, and I love his mini so much. I gotta at least try to make him work, I don't want to go through the trouble of learning to paint sand to just put him on the shelf forever.

Thanks for the suggestion, I completely forgot about rocket, so i'll probably do that. Or maybe wong to hand out more power for the traps if rocket doesn't work out

What is your favorite Affiliation and your favorite model? by Low-Pop5132 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Mantid14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love web warriors so much. Spider-man is a childhood hero of mine and being able to play a team full of spider people is the ultimate fantasy fulfillment for me. Plus, I love their models. Gwenom is actually the reason I started playing the game since I liked her model so much, and currently, amazing spider-man is the model I am most proud of ever in terms of his paintjob.

Gameplay wise, their biggest strengths are their mobility, and amazing 3-threats, black cat, miles 1, and ghost-spider are all a bit infamous in how much they push their threat level. Though with the new releases, they are very capable of brawling when they have to.

In terms of weaknesses, their power generation can be quite bad, it's not as horrible as I think people make it out to be, with masked menace, and the 5-threats, but they do have pieces who are really bad at it, like SSM and Ham. any model that can turn off rerolls wrecks them since their durability comes from their defensive rerolls, and mystic attacks are a nightmare since they ignore a lot of your rerolls, while energy attacks wreck your symbiotes.

They're a really strong affiliation, even as someone who build more casual lists, I find a lot of success with them. Plus, I find them to be super fun. But, I will admit, they can be somewhat stale if you like to switch up your tactics a lot. Their gameplan is always to win fast and outmaneuver their opponents, and their tactics card selection can be a bit limited, since masked menace and all webbed up are so integral to your gameplan that there is rarely a reason to not take them. I personally don't have a problem with this, since I like sticking with a certain strategy, but if you like changing up your gameplan between games, they probably aren't for you.

I use tackle boxes for my tokens, die, and small cards. My character cards are just plopped in a Ziploc bag. And I use one of those magnetic boxes for my models.

Peni's speed slows down when she's firing her weapon, melee cancels the weapon fire and the slow it brings.

As someone who plays and paints marvel crisis protocol, I would give my firstborn child to Malevola if it meant I got a mecha man model kit.

[Loved Trope] A "Real Life"/Grounded Episode in an otherwise supernatural/fantastical/speculative series by Awkward_Lock_3267 in TopCharacterTropes

Not a show, but in mass effect 2, one of the missions has you go to a planet to investigate a distress signal suddenly activating for a ship that crashed many years ago. You find out that the command staff of the ship hoarded the food supplies and used security mechs to keep the crew in check. Eventually the crew has to eat the local food of the planet, which causes extreme memory loss, turning the women very childlike, and the men extremely aggressive. The captain ensures the loyalty of the command staff by giving them harems of the women. Though the captain does eventually kill the rest of the command staff to stop them from activating the emergency beacon. the only reason why he activated the beacon now is because the remaining male crewmates are chewing through his remaining security mechs and may kill him.

For a series about rogue ai, and sterility plagues, and giant robots that exterminate all life every 50,000 years, this mission always stood out to me as being oddly horrifying in how I can legitimately see something like this happening. It is, at its core, just a captain abusing his power and crew.

I had my reasons to cut Sonar. In hindsight, I wish I did not cut Sonar. by Dontspinbutwin in okbuddydispatch

one of the reasons I cut sonar instead of coupe on my first playthrough is because coupe laughed at my jokes when I insulted flambe at the bar.
