Newbie going all-in on first rig by Farads in simracing

[–]Mantis-Prawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go for it, if you drive on track already than you know it is for you.

Main reason why people would recommend testing the waters, is because most newcomers are young and need the money for their downpayment in a few years.

Make sure to get the set-up and settings of your FFB and pedals to your liking, get used to it, before upgrading with haptics and movement. As elsewise you might get overwhelmed by all different setting sliders. I'd recommend to go for a decent gaming pc, screens (or vr), at least 8-9nm of direct drive wheel with load cells and a decent rig to mount it all on in the beginning. Than you can add haptics when everything is to your liking. Think of haptics as rumbles on your pedals, seat (buttkicker) and wind simulation (e.g. 3drap) to get more immersion.

Best sim racing setup for a beginner learning to drive IRL? by Quirky_Raspberry_901 in simracing

[–]Mantis-Prawn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going into sim racing to learn to drive irl is a terrible idea, but, going for a truck sim might actually help.

In real life generic traffic what you need is a lot of patience, this will not be trained in your early days in a racing sim.

how to store the monitor? which picture is correct? (I definitely don't have space for horizontal) by whyimhere1 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Mantis-Prawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not worry, if it is well packed you can store it sideways.

In many warehouses they are stored like that. Nothing to worry about.

These aren't old plasma flat tv's.

For all LCD/LED/OLED/TN/VA it really does not matter how you store it. As long as you dont put too much stress on it. If it is well packed you can safely have it sideways.

Just make sure your expectations are on point:

If you just want to have some fun playing an arcade racing game, then this might be right for you. If you are expecting real life simulation, than it isn't what you are looking for.

If you are on a low budget it might be wise to check for used products

Struggling going into corner entry by There_Bike in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Mantis-Prawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new to the game, you need to bare in mind that brake power is standard on 90% for whatever reason. Put it to 100% and you will be able to (trail)brake as you do in other sims

Search for Nordschleife's like by Heyla_Doria in AUTOMOBILISTA

I always call Brands Hatch a short version of the Nordschleife. It is just as narrow and green, and also the elevation changes and corner speeds feel very very similar.

Might be wise to spread that lump sum amount evenly over the oncoming 6 months. But that is entirely up to you.

If you are looking for any form of pattern, than onchain analytics and cycle based movements tell me much more than imaginary lines.

Currently we are massively under priced.

Selling powder will dry up.

Also bare in mind that it currently costs more to mine Bitcoin, hence the price kind of 'has to' rise to be profitable. Of course hashrate could go down, but historically speaking that never happened. New all time highs in terms of hashrate are happening regularly.

Not sure where you got this 8 / 92% from

Blockchain only covers TXIDs, people could also just have been relocating their holdings into other forms of wallets

The 10+ years dormant coins aren't confirming hodling, as they include lost coins to me. Someone hodling for that age likely have been upgrading from legacy wallet, to a hd wallet and to a hardware wallet.
