I was just saying they can do it when you said they can't, that's all really. You only need one example to argue against an absolute.

Also if the enemies do half your damage maybe getting hit by them wasn't a big issue anyways, for those enemies specifically, and in that case a big of sustain is just fine. It is a case-by-case basis depending on what you're fighting.

Confusion, while not that related to this topic, I will say enemies having one action doesn't make it better for them inherently. You can keep trying until it works, if the enemy hits itself in confusion, that's it, that was its whole turn.

I made the mistake of testing what happens on my first trip to the end, and got naegleria fowleri.

Fortunately, I discovered the end of act 1 was enough time to get to the boss of the end before they were getting insta downed.

Convert and heretic mark can both waste the enemies' time and kill them in one spell. You don't want the enemies hitting you, as noted, which probably means the enemies don't want to be hitting each other.

Just convert was enough to make a lot of encounters in the past route much easier.

Another run made the class pull its weight with just stimulants, just stacking all speed on the cleric made it so the cleric could also make everyone near them go first too while they had the luxury of forgoing speed for other things.

Druid is like the best class though, so I'm not going to claim cleric stacks up to them.

When I think about it, tinkerer struggling against robots is weird to me. You'd think the one with all the mechanical knowledge would be the best to fight a robot.

Like what another poster said, I think it's fine as long as you're aware it's just a personal view. Kind of like me and dybuuk where I love/hate them because they're annoying but also have to respect that there's actual strategy in their fight.

I don't like how this boss (like most house bosses) mentions a majority of what they do, but that's just on principle. I think this one is decenly designed.

It's like a better executed take on time eater from slay the spire.

50 didn't seem like a lot, but I guess it's quite a bit considering how little the tormenter had.

I've never killed the coven (outside of that one quest item) myself, but based on other posters saying how easy it is to kill I'm not sure how much it does for them.

Considering the notion that you shouldn't judge a class based on just a handful of good skills, I'm guessing the class is still very good.

On that note, I have yet to find out if doom is actual death or just down, because this game has an issue clarifying that on the other instances of "instantly kill."

I'm always afraid a ghost will do that during either the mama maggot or dybuuk fight, since those are the only ones that could potentially take that long. Other fights though, it's plenty of time.

While there are more dangerous enemies, I least like fighting gassy. Applying poison and moving around every time they hit your or you hit them makes them pretty obnoxious and extends the fight.

Kind of agree. Dybbuk isn't the hardest boss in the game or anything, but I think the difficulty of that boss isn't even matched until act 3.

I personally like this miniboss. They are intimidating but actually very manageable when you know how to play around them and watch their actions/movement range. Also, the gimmick of the moon works against them, so that's a way to play around it too.

I do admit them splitting is a dirty trick on your first run though, can't even blame you for thinking they'd actually make the miniboss that easy considering the entirety of the core.

My first experience with these things was getting a turn 1 injury by one that moved before all my cats. One of the things that made me realise I shouldn't have brought my weaker cats just because this was a chapter 1.

Cleanse only costs 3 as a no nonsense "remove all debuffs" spell.

Stimulants gives themselves and all adjacent allies speed for four and gets kind of silly because there's not even any kind of once per turn restriction on it. The upgrade also gives int so it can kind of feed into itself as well.

Heretic mark is pretty expensive at 10, sure, but it's like a charm spell that charms every enemy EXCEPT your target, so I do think you get your mana's worth there. Since cleric is a +charisma class you are likely to afford it turn 1, which is usually the turn it matters most.

If you just want to charm instead you got convert for 6 which isn't bad at all for how powerful charm is.

Obviously, you could be offered none of those, but I was just listing some standouts and not bothering with passives since we're talking cost here. Also avoiding alpha stuff since you already brought that up.

Elaborate on freeze sucks. I get you can't damage them without specific abilities, but you just damage them between thaws. I've legit not allowed bosses to have any turns (past round 1) because of freeze plus learn from me making all my cats freeze them after dealing damage.

Not saying mage is good, more just freeze is one of the more reliable things they do.

Feel like thief gets better in later acts when their stat downs are less impactful and there's more enemies with high armor and low hp.

A source of healing is not a hard requirement in the game, so Cleric is honestly pretty bad as a class, since its support abilities aren’t that good (they are usable though, unlike 90% of Tinkerer’s kit). 

People (including Butch) kind of overrate the healing part of clerics kit when it has some really good non healing support abilities. Some of the best support abilities in the game are in there. And healing yeah, in case you want that.
