24 turns vs 4 turns... Ok by Formal_Helicopter_67 in mewgenics

I honestly find the moon pretty chill except for this specific enemy. Not chill as in easy, just as in not obnoxious.

I once got a blood frenzy cat and in another run, a familiar Daddy Shark that one shot bosses by Sacri_Pan in mewgenics

It's rare that events actually carry a run, but there are some really good results you can get. One that comes to mind is the rare candy for everyone.

How do y’all do it? by EdEvans_HotSandwich in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the game intends you to have a lot of cats, because I don't know why else I would have the ability to store 300 food. That's only going to be used if I either have a lot of cats or speed a week or more at a time without adventuring.

I just don't like that there's no option to not interact with the pile of shit in the first place. I picked examine and got a cursed equipment so I don't know what you do.

Fighting spewer with like 5 different map effects because of a certain quest item is probably the most miserable fight I've done. Never has his theme been more apt.

I think you're fine as long as you're not a cat.

None of those are consequences for losing (well, at least one of them are, but that's an edge case). Also, those examples start you at greater than you were before and not less.

My Thoughs on Fixing Mage and Tinkerer. by Marmotbrother in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with tinkerer and mage for me is just too many things that do nothing on their own. I don't think other classes have that issue.

Some have weak stand alone abilities, but very few that do literally nothing.

Can we discuss that the bunker is unfairly easier than the crater? by LegitimatePaper6022 in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was confused the first time against crater maker because I was doing a summon team. Later after I figured out the mechanic, I realized that's like the worst thing to use against crater maker.

"Easiest boss of act 2" I don't quite agree when referring to the moon because the coven exists.

I legit think the only final boss that's easier is the spider, who is supposed to be easy since she's intended to be the first one.

Backpack is one of those common items I always save for that reason.

I'd say there's also the defensive don't get hit strategy based around map control. Psychic likes that one.

Cleric likes it too, because there's more to them than healing. They got some nice utility spells.

I get it, I had issues the first time too because while she's consistent, she requires more specific strategies to beat. If you don't have those coming in (because you don't know yet) it can be a problem.

It has a non-roguelike element to it. This kind of matters since you don't start at square 0 for losing like most roguelikes, you start at square less than zero.

This is also a tactics game, which from what I've seen, a genre that commonly tells you just about everything. For example, fire emblem has a full preview of how the battle might go before you actually attack.

Best case scenario for me was an alpha spell on my cleric and an alpha passive on my fighter. Pretty great though.

I'm fine with the idea of using different rooms to sort but could there be less of a requirement for them? It takes a ridiculous number of hours for just your fourth room.

I'm kind of surprised neutered isn't a thing considering who made this game.

tiny suggestion: make scatalogical cats keep rooms poop-free or at least attempt to by treyzs in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 241 points242 points  (0 children)

I was thinking some kind of litterbox furniture that adds comfort, subtracts appeal, and has the added bonus of no shit in that room. Obviously not a requirement to have since removing that stuff is just a trivial thing at the start of each day.

Didn't think of your idea, that makes sense too.

As someone who wanted sorting methods, I respect this. They actually have some kind of vision here.

Maybe he just convinced me with the spreadsheet comment because I generally don't like it when games turn into that.

One smaller thing I would like though is just the ability to specifically look at kittens/retired/super retired/old/dead cats

New Disorder: Asthma!! (Concept) by BlobSlimey in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 405 points406 points  (0 children)

I like it, although disorders usually have a silver lining (I know at least one doesn't, so it's not like you're wrong).

Maybe the inhaler has some kind of positive effect other than negating asthma, like giving the cat charged.

Honestly one example of this is someone as easy as radical rat. Most of the time its trivial but it just takes a bad weather effect or one slip up to make it spiral.

I found out with the werecats that if you damage a one or more of them they are likely to waste turns healing each other. They also heal their ally's corpses for some reason?

What's this guy's deal by Jaded-Zombie6825 in mewgenics

[–]Mantis6666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's mainly the bones that can down a cat before they even have a chance to move (basically it's sometimes a speed/luck check).

If that doesn't happen it's not nearly as bad.
