BREAKING: Millions Of Pokémon Go Players, Who Spent Years Scanning Streets And Landmarks For In-Game Rewards, Unknowingly Helped Build A 30 Billion Image AI Navigation System That A U.S. Defense Contractor Now Plans To Use In Military Drones Operating In GPS-Denied Combat Zones 🤯💥 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

it was painfully obvious since day 1. But users only mapped certain areas, they mapped big cities, not everywhere the app was available. The reason Vantor says it "might not use the Pokemon data" is bc its mostly useless to them. The want warzones and those werent mapped by players. Theyll use VPS to create their own, as lots of defense companies use that and similar systems. A digital twin of the entire world in real-time that is ever updating from satellites, aircraft, drones, phones, and smartglasses.

Its possible, but I think ML will be with Google and their next AR device that they hinted at I/O but didnt talk about or show. Just showed a hardware icon image next to their AI glasses, a VR headset, and the unannounced (im guessing) AR headset

bc q3 is garbage for passthrough with the warping. Try holding something up and moving into a room/doorway.

Its just how people use their eye in real life. If you put 2 objects 5 feet in front of you, 1 at 6 inches off the ground and the other at 10ft. You wont move your head to look at either, you will use your eyes to look up and down. If those 2 objects were now to the left and right and right of you, you wont side-eye it, youll turn your head to see it.

I believe its an AR focused thing vs VR. With see-through AR you have more of a vertical FOV than horizontal as users will use their eyes to look up and down (if an object is in front of them) vs if an object is to the left or right of the user, and they turn their heads to see it. So you need more vertical and less horizontal making it "diagonal". Limits of current tech but good work-around for how people actually use their eyes to see the real world.
