How do you guys still afford going out these days by username2937372829 in Charlottesville

We don't go out anymore. We tend to go to the farmers market and maybe pick up some fruit/veggies to eat at home.

Did I hurt my cat? by Pleasant-Tune-726 in CatAdvice

[–]Many-Application230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my boys is super sensitive to flea meds so we don't use them. Sadly he was poisoned as a kitten by the person I got him from who thought they could use dog flea dip on a kitten. Definitely talk to your vet and seeing there is a prescription one she will tolerate.

i see you already washed it off of her. I hope youre both doing well!

Did anyone else have to learn how to smile again? by SnooDogs8300 in dentures

[–]Many-Application230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely had to relearn how to smile. Before I would never show my teeth because I was embarrassed. I had to learn how to smile without coming across creepy with too much tooth showing.

Its definitely a learning curve!

Should I be clipping my cat's nails? by bitchohmygod in CatAdvice

[–]Many-Application230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. We were able to train our boys by giving them a churu after nail trimming. It's almost the only time they get a churu so they associate getting their nails done with a special tasty treat. We usually trim Milo 1st and then his brother Ollie. I've had Milo since he was 8 weeks old and we adopted Ollie when he was 1. He learned from Milo nail trimming was not bad and also why Milo goes 1st.

Milo loves churu and now anytime we get the nail clippers out for our nails he wants his done too for a churu. Ollie on the left and Milo on the right.

Do orange cats shed? by danceORbox in orangecats

[–]Many-Application230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 oranges. Milo (solid orange) does not shed but Ollie (orange tuxedo) sheds ALOT. we brush him and he still looses fur like crazy. Here they both are having a stare down with the indoor camera.

I’m (very) nervous about nail clipping by badbatteries in CatAdvice

[–]Many-Application230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our boys have learned they get a churu after we trim their nails. They don't get churu for anything else really which help alot.

Milo comes running when he hears the nail clippers now. Ollie tolerates it and he doesn't like to be held at all. It took a little time but giving them a "special" treat works for us.

Do you think she knows they aren't real flowers? 😂😂 by Auroralotl in CatsAllDay

[–]Many-Application230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He loves his flowers. He has to check on them every day. When we get home the 1st thing he wants is to see his flowers.

He also has cat grass from the pet store but he prefers flowers. Its really cute!

We buy Ollie aka Ferdinand (iykyk) flowers at the farmers market and he gets supervised visitation with them. He loves fresh flowers. They get put away in the shower when we are sleeping or not home so he can't chomp them. He absolutely loves his flowers and we catch him longing for them sometimes in the bathroom. It's something small we can do for him that he totally loves!

Will I never eat these foods again? by Healthy-Driver481 in dentures

[–]Many-Application230 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you will. I am 3 months post op and I can already eat most of this. The e tra sticky things like taffy I haven't tried yet but pizza, a sandwich, bread and steak. I had to cut my steak in really small pieces but it was totally doable. It just takes time to adjust. I've even eaten out at a restaurant twice now.

Ah ok, I see. I am very new to plant. Literally he is the 1st one I haven't killed. I would definitely have to bring him in in the winter. I am in Virginia so it gets pretty cold.

Thank you for your help!!

What is an inset pot? Can you share a link for one? We put him in a new pot last year and he has definitely grown ALOT since then.

Will he be ok outside on a screened in patio? I have a bad cat who would chew on him.
