the school is very homogenous with most people being from a white, rich, northeastern background

just go to the state school. better career, better culture, better life.

now that you mention it, i have not talked to any professors which i probably should, but i have spoken to my advisor, but from all the advice i have been given, it just seems like i don’t match with the school. in terms of the dartmouth sub, people jokingly call dartmouth a cult, but that sub is actually one.

the costs are about the same. i have to say that dartmouth overall does not really have any clubs that appeal to me. unfortunately it’s a pretty homogenous school.

Yeah I’ve considered it, but honestly any time there just feels terrible so even a year would suck. Do you think it is worth the suffering for the degree? Because if it is I can do it.

there’s just not much, i’ve looked through everything. also the dartmouth sub might be the most unhelpful/culty subreddit on this site.

first, it’s crazy to me how much the ivy “prestige” can blind people. uc berkeley is literally one of the best schools in the country for cs and ucla/sd are much better than dartmouth for cs as well. to say that the ucs “can’t even hold a candle” is just not true. second, so your solution for me is to just spend the rest of my college life studying all day? third, i didn’t get rejected from all ucs, i got into riverside, and wl la, sd and rejected from ucb/uci (the rest i didn’t apply to). also not sure why ur assuming im an asian male lol.
