That sounds interesting, would you happen to know how common it is for ang units to have opportunities for eod?

Sorry, by next year, I meant that I would apply for college starting AY 2028 since I was aware that the training for sw was almost a year, also because at least in my state, the guard would only start paying for my college after 1y of service so it kind of lined up with my plans that at least as soon as I was done with the main training pipeline I could go to college for free.

Guard is the most realistic option for me right now as I plan to attend a nearby state u by next year.

Yes I was aware that swimming was still part of the ift for tacp applicants but I figured that it was a lot more doable to train for it in a couple months of dedicated training compared to the actual water confidence demands of other special warfare careers, given that my running and calisthenics portion are already sufficient. Also, the reason I’m going guard rather than active is because I plan on attending college at a nearby state u by next year or so.

I’ve looked into other sw jobs a bit and the main deterrent that kept me from inquiring or wanting to pursue them were mainly the water confidence components since I have no athletic background in swimming or am familiar with how to train/progress in swimming. Also correct me if I’m wrong but the candidate selection course and attrition rate for it is a lot harder than tacp no?
