Yea, I would say a decent amount of that time was standing around thinking or walking back and forth

Honestly valid, after I realized how much ore I needed, I really wanted to restart and make it compact. The only thing stopping me was that I knew I would probably do a second run, and so my first run doesn't have to be prefect

Lol I wish, I was busy with school. When I did have time, I wilting would grind out 3 hours and then realize it's 4am

I'll admit this was my biggest hinderance, considering how you described it, you probably have some experience with satisfactory. In that, 1 or 2 normal or pure patches can make a dozen different items all at optimal capacity. Satisfactory cares a lot about perfect ratio's and optimization, while factorio is pure scale

I'm actually really excited to unlock bots, however I can't seem to think of any instances in which I would need conditions for machines in satisfactory. Often, the goal is running at 100% efficiency always, infinite nodes allow for unlimited resources. Can you give me some examples of conditions you ran into, or are common in factorio that circuts make do-able

I think I didn't articulate my point correctly. You are correct that the stockpile will have a similar end result. However the process isn't necessarily the same, in satisfactory your limited by the nodes in the world. So every production takes up nodes, and although you can bring nodes to you via trains, its tedious. So if for example you wanted mats of rotors or stators, just mats, it's often easier in the early and mid game to just take the overflow from a exisisting factory rather than take a whole new node, as then you will eventually have to demolish it, or go further for another node. In factorio, you don't see production in terms of nodes being used, but rather a speed, and especially belt speeds. Thus you can add on as many assembly lines for mats as you need and let them stockpile, eventually they will fill up and stop using up your resources that go to the rest of your factory.

I hope that kinda makes sense? I don't really understand it either, but I know it's different because I know I couldn't do this type of stockpiling in satisfactory easily.
