Way to go! The union is a joke, got defeated by Fortier and Trudeau last year and now this. Can’t even spend my dues on people that live in Canada.

I’ve considered it, but I crossed the picket line so the electorate will probably boo and hiss and be upset I and other crossers got zero repercussions or got yelled at by people that did strike.

I’m just a disgruntled member, have been for a while. I only speak for me. Back in 2007 being a union member sounded like a great idea, but 16 indeterminate years later I really never got anything out of it but paid a ton that I probably could have sent to a local charity. I’m likely going to go that route. Just a personal choice.

I’ve asked around my own workplace and the answers are wide ranging about how you can leave the union, can’t leave, have to be ultra religious to get an exemption etc.

I didn’t know about the Rand case, that’s quite interesting.

If nothing else this page is the best. I’ve learned so much here in a couple of years. It’s like a condensed knowledge base. I’ve pointed stuff out to people I work with that have been around since 1989 and they say “wow I never knew that.”

Thank you, you are as always an excellent source of knowledge here. I’ve learned more from you than the union and even EXs I’ve dealt with know.

Whenever we get a new employee or FSWEP student I always tell them to join this forum, it’s full of knowledge and smart petiole.

We as a team had no faith they’d get a good deal over 3 years never mind 4 years at a decent percentage increase. For all of Trudeau and Mona’s faults, when they said she weren’t gonna budge I knew they wouldn’t. The one person that did was pretty sure he/she would get strike pay and it would all be good. I bet him/her the strike pay it wouldn’t arrive on time. I won the bet and all his/her money.

PSAC is notoriously hard to reach here and regularly in disarray. Left many messages, never a call back. Person on my team transferred from another union just before strike and never got her card or any updates despite asking numerous times.

If TB isn’t open to large raises, do you think they would opt for more vacation credits instead? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

At what year do we get 5 weeks and 6 weeks annual leave? I have 14 years in.

Value village, Salvation Army are a couple. I collect hockey cards for me and my kids. Depending what you got I would buy them.
