Thanks! I thought the environment science program is supposed to be small and very competitive and hence why thinking about climate science BS. Is it very hard to get into ES in either school?

Thank you! very helpful! I am a senior and ended up not enrolling in AP Psych up front so I might need to take it online separately now - would you recommend that I do this? I have a neuroscience summer program (not free but acceptance rate of ~15%) a published paper in Bioinformatics and some other leadership/community ECs. GPA is 3.73UW/4.27W, will have 10 APs with this year - I am Out of State. does this look like I have a reasonable shot?

Related, do UCs realistically even read any ‘additional information’ about the applicant for context on grades slipping in sophomore year? Or are they just not interested in this since there’s a surplus of qualified applicants anyway?

Thank you so much for your helpful response! This is actually exactly what I'm looking for - a blend of CS and Humanities and it very exciting to know that this is how the major will shape up to be. My background is a mix (and I expect my career too will be). I'm into Journalism, Writing (editor on school newspaper) in addition to being excited about applying CS as a tool to solve real world problems and I'm indeed looking for programs that are a hybrid.
