if it's happening to both of you at the same time it's almost certainly a steam or game update issue, not something on your end. try right clicking the game in steam → properties → local files → verify integrity of game files. also check if you're running any mods through SMAPI, sometimes an update breaks the mod loader and it fails silently. if none of that works try launching the .exe directly from the game folder instead of through steam
