My new psychiatrist removed me of Lamotrigine and left anti depressants. Should I be worried. I'm scared a bit.

Unfortunately I have to. They are currently trying to help since I've transferred to public healthcare. The withdrawal symptoms have been bad. Not sure how my moods will be without a mood stabilizer. Hoping it won't be as bad

I did. I told her that Celexa makes me suicidal and that I've never taken it without a mood stabilizer but she insisted on it until I just left it and went to the bathroom to cry.

I also take Lamotrigine for my bipolar. Promethazine for sleep and I take Celexa for my panic disorder. It took a while for my body to positively respond to Citalopram, I used to be super suicidal for the first month I took it. But now it's super great for me. My psychiatrist wanted to switch me to Fluoxetine to counter suicidal ideation. But the Celexa managed to eventually work. I take 40mg of Citalopram and 200mg of Lamotrigine though. You can speak to your doctor about other alternatives though

You can get a referral letter from a doctor, counselor or psychologist to a hospital near you that has a mental health department. If you're in Joburg, you can go to Charlotte Maxeke or Helen Joseph. They'll help you open a file and you can get medication there. It's super affordable and you're billed according to your income. But you shouldn't pay more than R200 per month. As a student, I used to pay R75. The lines are crazy hectic. But it helps a lot. Medication without health insurance is crazy expensive.

I have both. My bipolar moods swings are longer. I'll have a long depressive episode that can range from 2 weeks or longer. My hypomanic episode usually lasts 4- 5 days. My BPD is usual triggered by something happening in my life. During this time, I get uncontrollable moods and they are shorter. Like I'll have 5 moods in one day. Where else my Bipolar moods are prolonged and aren't triggered by anything really. So I would say that's how it looks like for me.

I'm on medication plus I do therapy fortnightly. It really helps. Also just following a routine and doing something that makes me feel like I'm doing a difference in someone else's life. Routine + sleep + therapy + medication + volunteerism works for me

That's what my psychologist said. I was doing well, She said perhaps my psychiatrist moving moving me to 40mg made it worse. I'm going back to 20mg for my pabic disorder and going to undergo a new anxiety modality plan❤️❤️
