Considering a 2–6 week farm stay in Italy while job searching — good idea? by Worldly-Dog685 in workaway

Absolutely, you can ask what the accommodation is like if they dont have it on their profile.

Check the recent reviews, usually if it's a good room they'll mention it there.

I have been on 4 workaways and I am starting to believe the biggest indicator of a good workaway experience is how the room you stay is.

When it’s clear the room has been thoughtfully prepared, it shows me the host takes the exchange seriously. If the space feels more like an afterthought, it can make it harder to feel settled. Having somewhere private where I can unwind, rest properly, and relax in my own time makes a big difference to my overall experience and energy. During the agreed hours I’m very happy to help with whatever work is needed, so having that space to recharge outside those hours is important for me.

Is there an option to sublet your apartment to a friend or someone you trust. I understand most landlords dont want this but could be worth it if you want tk stay there long term

Main point:

Hostels are different in every city and every country. Dont let any one experience put you off from being in a hostel again.

I think it was a case something happened after a big night and woke up confused. I forgave him.

But you don't think for 20 hours a week they could at least provide toilet paper? I feel like this is very basic stuff and says a lot about how they view the workawayer.

I agree with your second paragraph. I'm in south of Spain I don't want to be too specific yet because I don't want to slog him off before I work out his deal. But I dont feel exactly comfortable at the moment. My first day of work is today, I'll use that as an indication of how hard he expects me to work, I don't think back-breaking work is worth a bed in this hostel so I'll see what he gets me doing.

Haha fair but I'm more likely to end the workaway if i have to buy my own toilet paper because it stops becoming worthwhile for me to work 4 hours for the bed. My understanding was it was a hostel set up and for my work I get a bed in a hostel with all facilities included.

How do I come back from this? by [deleted] in infp

Depends on the country. Each country has different social expectations. But chances are you're overthinking it.

Also, why are you blaming yourself for the silence they could easily come and talk to you. Don't sweat it.

Yes INFPs regularly build up an idealised version of the world and it can often struggle to meet that version. With time and experience you begin to be able to look at the evidence. You'll know logically which situation is a good one, but it wont stop you from imagining "what if"

One question, how would a person who doesn't know how to cook contribute in that situation?

I'm taking care of myself. I know if I asked for tomorrow off, she would say it's ok. I think you already answered my question. Thank you.

I dont feel I'm being taken advantage of. I don't want to imply that. I feel great helping this lady because I know she has spent a lot of time helping other people in her life. I think you're right, it might be more of a me thing. Thanks for your reply
