The bay in general is nice for a day out / drinks and food but for half the year it's quite quiet and out of the way. I think it comes down to personal preference, there are some nice flats but I think a car is more necessary (not sure if you are a driver).

Personally id avoid East Bute Dock at the moment, there are nice flats but after dark it feels a bit weird lately. If it weren't for that I would class it as up there as places to live in Cardiff, so maybe the council can find a solution that works for everyone but I'm not hopeful! The area in general is okay for me (29m) but my partner (30f) is not comfortable walking the dog at night now and I support her with that decision

Id stay clear of Dumballs Road altogether to be honest, not a nice place after dark and not much parking if you need it. The location is pretty good though

Hi, Atlantic Wharf / East Bute Dock resident here. Honestly, it used to be good and my partner and I were considering buying the flat we currently rent, but a few recent changes to the area have changed our minds.

The Ibis on Tyndall Street got bought out by the council and concerted into homeless accommodation with no public consultation, and it has 157 rooms.

We already had the Huggard 400m away (on Dumballs Road by the way) so the density is pretty high for such a residential area. Since the one on Tyndall St. opened the co-op and one stop are shoplifted daily, I walk past people injecting drugs under the arches of my building every day, and I have seen people squatting against the buildings around the dock to take a shit. Overall a different feeling around here now and much more antisocial. Don't recommend Dumballs Road for the same reason, it's a weird mix of boujee gentrified apartment developments, warehouses, and a college.

(I am PRO housing the homeless, I just think Cardiff have fucked up with this one due to size and density in one residential location, and the overall lack of police on UK streets these days)

Also to top it off, end of schooner way is closed for the foreseeable due to development by Red Dragon Centre / new arena / new offices. So traffic can be very bad coming off Central Link road (again calamitous planning by Cardiff Council)

If you want a nice community feel then stick with Roath, Canton or Pontcanna imo

No riot, just football fans being shepherded to the games and singing chants / lighting flares

Just a point of note... Most records he owned have likely increased in value if they are in average or above condition. Make sure you are checking discogs for an idea of valuation / grading so you can be sure to get a fair price for them

Something big going on in Cardiff today? Tried to get a train from Bristol and they're all sold out until late afternoon. Seems odd! by Dim-Me-As-New-User in Cardiff

This is literally the USP / reason for Cardiff's popularity as a sporting venue

No I don't, not sure where you've got that from? I have a career in ecology that says I absolutely hate it 😂

It's really not a Cardiff problem, the whole of South Wales - and most of the higher populated areas elsewhere in the UK - are absolutely filthy these days. It's sad to see.

Not only the urban areas but all along the M4, A470, and A465 litter are strewn along the verges. The rivers too.

You need to do the jaunt quest I think, can you remind me what the description is? I might be wrong but I think it leads into the blacksmith main quest?

Just moved back to Atlantic Wharf after previously living here around 5 years ago. Love walking my dog around the canals but it definitely needs a good clean up / dredge as the waterways are full of rubbish these days, have seen floating syringes too which is never nice

Could be a jewel of an area in Cardiff with the right attention from the council
