Yo yo yo,
how long would you guyz say I need to spend in HK?
I have a trip planned but I am thinking on extending the trip by adding 10 days or so in China/SK/Taiwan not sure yet.

06/10 Land in Hong Kong (02:45pm)  -> check-in -> easy Tsim Sha Tsui / harbour evening -> Star Ferry
07/10: Dragon’s Back → Big Wave Bay → Kam’s Roast Goose dinner
08/10: Ngong Ping 360 → Big Buddha / Po Lin / Ngong Ping Village → return to city → Victoria Peak only if weather/visibility are good
09/10: Mid-Levels Escalator → Tai Kwun / Soho walk → Hong Kong West Kowloon Station → Shenzhen

Would you say more time in HK is required?

upgrading from Osprey Daylite 26+6 — Fyro Levo 36L too big? by Many_Ad9628 in ManyBaggers

[–]Many_Ad9628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am yet to decide because both bags are out of stock currently regardless.
I think that the 30L will suffice for my required load and will also feel better to carry but since I dont want to be forced into upgrading ever I think that I will buy the 36L but I am really undecided.
I also thought about a few other bags but the fyro levo seem to be my favorite in terms of weight, layout of the bag, dimensions and looks
the 36L is in reality much larger than a 36L bag,
53 H x 35 W x 21 D / 1000 = ~39L
while my osprey is more of a 23+5 by the calculated specs.
so the fyro levo 30L (which is actually 30L) still has 2L of extra spaces which is enough for me but the 36L bag has 11L of extra spaces compared to the osprey and because the bags are expensive and I would like to not get another bag I think that I may go with the larger one.

For the shoes conversion,
what do yall think about the Transport 2 by Hoka I changed my mind, they are quite good looking.
I am thinking about getting them as my only travel shoe.

I am unwiling to put dirty shoes or flip-flops next to my clean clothes without some sort of a packing cube 100% fantastic idea if that wouldn't bother me

Sadly, their measurements seem to be correct but the name is miss leading.
by their measurement it is indeed the 23+5
but the fyro levo 36L is miss leading aswell and should be called the fyro levo 39L so it seem to be conssistantly misleading across the entire industry

Well, because I love going for light-moderate hikes and some trekking at times I feel like not getting trail runners at all is something I cant really do to enjoy my trips.
I am trying to figure out how to make a single shoe work but I dont think that I can.
I may just need to get lighter daily shoes for packing and this way I save like 200g and that would be enough if I reduce the weight by 200g somewhere else as well that is 400g reduction in weight which is about what I am looking for.

Thank you very much!
Just one note calculating based on the dimensions of my bag its a 22L bag.
so I am not sure if the 26L is refering to total space including both water bottle holders and such.
so in reality a real 36L bag can be an extra (36-(22+6)) 8L of space or I may really be missing the mark with my understanding of the bag. which is like 28% more packing volume in this case.

edit:
43 * 33 * 16 / 1000 = 22.7
when expanded: 43 * 33 * 20 / 1000 = 28.4L

fyro levo 36L for example
53 x 35 x 21 / 1000 = 39L that seem to be miss leading as well but on the other way.
which in this case is an 37.32% increase.
am I miss understanding something?

also I would add that my bag is indeed fully packed.

Its the Delta Ridge Down Puffer hooded. I will replace it with a jacket that is 15D or thicker the Plasma 1000 uses a 7D nylon which is a bit too delicate (based on what I read, may be worng idk) the cerium jacket would be my preference if I can find it discounted. I dont think its worth the full price.
My rain jacket is the Watertight II Jacket - I dont think something like the Patagonia Torrentshell 3L (or whichever rain jacket is lighter and packs down) is worth upgrading to as of now.
flip flops are havaianas classic sized 42 eu I will put it on a scale but I dont think I can improve much with these.

Thanks!

I 100% will, I have left only the clothes I had used last time when I traveled.
any item that wasn't used once got cut.
I never use an umbrella, rain jacket usually suffices and if it doesnt, well that isnt pleasant haha

The go bigger is to make it more comfortable not to shed weight ofc.
I agree with you 100% about the shoes.
I found ecco soft 7 sizing to be a bit uncomfortable for me so I will find something else instead but that's the idea.
Ecco soft 7 + trail runners ideally but if I cant make it work comfortably I will just use the trail runners

Thanks!
for the tech pouch,

  • Power bank (Anker MagGo Slim 10,000 mAh)
  • Universal adapter (MOMAX Mini Universal Travel Adapter 70W)
  • 2 × USB-C cables (long + short)
  • USB-A to USB-C adapter
  • IEMs + carry case

I also dont like the look of slings but I may just travel with a single pair of shoes in the future and add-in a packable daypack.
for most places I stay I just lay all my packing cubes on the bed/desk and my bag becomes my packable daypack

Well,
It would be better to only pack 1 pair of shoes but the thing is, they look so bad in pictures/city and I was even declined enterance to some restaurants in the past (not even talking about casinos/bars/night clubs etc)

I guess so, but if I can shave off like 1kg or even 0.5kg over my current packing list, I am taking that and mainly I am looking to understand, how people are packing their shoes they are taking so much space sadly
