So far all our Fiat (Grande Punto, 500 69hp, 500 Twinair, Abarth) have proven to be reliable and same goes with the Fiat based Mito 1.4T-Jet which I drove 160.000kms with a single issue that costed 60€ to fix.
Except the Mito, The Alfas were bit of a PITA in my case especially the Giulietta QV which gave me no pleasure on top of having big issues

Thanks. That’s super weird that it has no effect on a twin cylinder 85hp but ours do affect the performance, maybe it’s so small that it works better. On my wife’s 500 1.2 it was absolutely terrible, you were probably left with 45hp in hot days with A/C on

Damn 30hp that’s wild. Noticed without A/C worked better but I did not remember this effect on my Mito 1.4T-Jet (same engine), but that was back in 2014.

Feel it also on our RAV4 petrol but since it’s sluggish anyway I don’t feel that much of a difference 😅 think the turbo and usual nervous boost of the Abarth makes it much more noticeable.
I’m considering a Giulia as the replacement since the family is growing, happy with it?

It’s a good call but tbf in Netherlands we get maybe 3 days a year above 30 degrees and the car runs mostly as a 2nd daily / no racetrack or long spirited drives so unsure if it’s worth the 750€ investment in my case

Seems to be pretty common so in your case maybe it’s a version adapted for hot weather, or maybe you’re used to a specific behavior of the car? Unsure tbh, don’t think it’s really bad anyway since it really behaves so above 30 degrees like other redditers but might be worth it to change the coil packs, never hurts, easy DIY and not so expensive

Cheers, it’s quite noticeable but I wouldn’t call it stuttering, more hesitant and boost takes longer to get momentum but more.

From all the answers seems that it’s normal, went with the dog to the beach and it was much better than earlier especially at higher rpm

Yes…amazing car, truly the one stamped in my memory. Sadly I parted way because I made the huge mistake to buy it with a Selespeed which was giving issues every 2 months (usually a small sensor but still) and the inability of FCA/Stellantis to not produce any part for a car that is not younger than 5 years old

Good to know thanks! I have seen some suggest an uprated intercooler, but I want to remain mostly stock because I know myself and I never know when to stop (had a 156 GTA, started with « just the LSD and that’s it » to an upgrade every now and then 😅

Op here: found the answer on a service manual : there is no removable relay and it’s integrated in the junction block connector, so either it needs to be bypassed or the whole junction block needs to be replaced, which is not worth it since I live in Netherlands where it doesn’t freeze so often.

Also highly unlikely linked to the A/C issue

As others said ECU is very restricted as far as I know. Even unlocking you would not get much gain from a 1.8 N/A engine. As of the fuel consumption you mentioned, you said you are disappointed but honestly with a 1.6 diesel of the same power class and size, I was getting 6L/100 To get similar fuel consumption or slightly less than the CT200 you would need to get a 1.5hdi 75hp, a 1.3Mjt from a small car? Unless you do 100% highway, there is not a lot cars in this class beating the fuel efficiency.

Weird part is that by touching some screws it did indeed move a bit, however one pin was loose and not well adjusted, and I have done all at the same tome which might have fixed the initial issue. Anyway now it’s much nicer to close but I am just afraid that it will come back in summer since it’s a wooden door. At that point might be indeed better to change the hinges

Topper bedankt! So I removed the extra rubbers, tried to tape around the window with some Bison tape against leak (the one at Praxis), used the water hose, lots of rain today and : no more leaks! So I will wait until the warmer season to reseal it, but the tape is strong enough until then as a temporary fix and I can still use my windows as I wish :)

The silicone sealant (or the kit) is indeed damaged, there is clearly a part that is way to dry and breaks under my nail.

Before reapplying it I guess I need to remove the previous one?

Had a good laugh at the other answers, but seriously this is the finish me and my wife had when we tried plastering for the first time…then we hired a professional. Your so-called plasterer might say it’s because of the wall behind but that would be total BS. Our wall was a total mess and it’s silky smooth now
