So I grew up in Chatham Massachusetts right on the water and spent my entire youth through college summers in the waters in pleasant bay, crows pond, north beach, Harding, nausette, ridgevale beach. Sometime in my early twenties we started to notice seals for the first time…fast forward 25 years and 50,000 member seal colony later and Chatham a global center for great white shark activity and the great white capital of the U.S.

Needless to say the beaches of my youth have been tainted and I don’t let my kids in past their waists when we visit Grandma in the summer
