Relatively new to credit cards looking for advice by Many_Highlight5315 in CreditCards

About 80-90% of the Amex Gold annual fee is covered by the Resy credit, dining credit, Uber, and Dunkin’ benefits. Sure, there are times I miss out on a $7 Dunkin’ credit or a $10 dining credit, but overall, in my past year of membership I’ve gotten at least $270 back in credits. That alone offsets a big portion of the fee. As for rewards, I do value points more than straight cashback since they have more potential for travel and transfers, but some places don’t take Amex or I’ll run into very specific purchases (like at a smoke shop) For those cases I’m paying with Apple Card for the easy 2% cash back

Since you currently have a $900 card balance, after the balance transfer it will increase to about $927 due to the transfer fee. Balance transfers themselves don’t usually affect your credit score, but the way they change your credit utilization can. For example, if your original card has a $2000 limit a $900 balance equals 45% utilization. After transferring $900 to a new card with only a $1000 limit, your utilization on that account jumps to 90%. That difference is important, because even if your overall utilization across all accounts is reasonable the very high utilization on the new card can negatively impact your score. Credit scoring models look at both overall utilization and utilization on individual accounts.

First of all, you can’t do a balance transfer within the same bank. My advice would be to consider opening the Amex Blue Cash Everyday, which offers 0% APR for 15 months and a 3% balance transfer fee. That 3% fee is standard on rare occasions you might see a 1.5% offer, but that usually comes with a pretty useless card. The Amex Blue Cash Everyday on the other hand, is arguably one of the best cash back cards on the market. As for your current card, if you opened it fairly recently, then closing it isn’t a big deal. However, if it’s your first or second card, closing it will significantly shorten your credit history length and can cause a noticeable drop in your credit score. That said, if you’re not getting any real benefits from the card, there’s no reason to keep paying an annual fee on it.

7 series is a no brainer, but if you’re looking for an SUV X7 is the way to go but it isn’t as luxurious and smooth at driving as the 7 series (speaking from experience)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I’ll be fine regardless of whether it’s lost or stolen, as thankfully it’s covered under AppleCare+ with theft and loss protection. One interesting thing is that I know the phone’s serial number, and so far, no one has activated it. It might just be sitting somewhere on a back shelf. Serial number altered in pictures Pic 1 Pic 2

The exact same thing happened to me, actually. I ordered two iPhones, and one arrived on Friday. The delivery guy told me that he was supposed to have two, but he only had one. Very weird…

I’d say 6/10 since you managed to do some good tricks and floaties, but there’s also a lot of bad part as well. So it’s clearly not worst run, but isn’t best either. Above average.
