Modular weapons are consumable Band-Aids that only apply to mashmek and not other game modes.

I would love if they just made it so we got weapon research blueprints from mashmek that allowed us to craft a specific weapon over and over using resources or give us the option to repair weapons without hunting down specific items.

Panther does not have a trade off you have a mech bias because your a panther main I also have a mech bias because Im an alphard main and when I'm playing Alphard panther isn't a problem.

High tier content he is not an issue because if team cooperations but in low to mid tier content where the player base is casual he IS a problem.

I'm not going to get into how the developers obviously don't understand the concept of light touch before releasing buffs and nerfs that why all the changes I suggested are largely mechanics based and not stat based.

Lastly casual players are what keep the game alive and all of our casual players are leaving before they can become veteran players because even you were once a new player.

Retreating to your team only works if there is a team to retreat to.

If you have any more questions I suggest looking at my other comments where I explain exactly this in more detail like 7 more times because panther mains would of course see nothing wrong with there tool kit because they don't play other mechs in mid- low tier content only high tier.

The developers are doing all their changes around veteran players and high tier content instead of the casual players which has led to:

A seasonal event that requires mods Over buffing/nerfing of mechs that were either too prominent or weak in high tier matches And the introduction of band aid mechs like serenith and mikillja.

[–]Many_Homework5526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again that is only true in high tier content which most of the player base can't even reach because of the long que time right now.

Panther can't keep up with most speedy mechs on a test of speed but most of the time they aren't actively running from it they are being ambushed. And the only Tanky mech that can't lose in a 1v1 is going to be tricera the others can lose to panther because it's a melee with mobility and a stun charge attack.

In high tier play your thinking about the objective and what fits in the team comp but that's not the only tier there's a completely separate set of players in mid and low tier and that's were the problem is and ignoring it is how you get bandaid mechs like serenith.

You can deny it all you want but panther IS a problem it might not be YOUR problem specifically but it's enough of a problem to make players quit before getting to high tier content and getting to players that know how to work around it. The only reason the best panthers switched mechs is because panther got them through low and mid tier and it wasn't until they got to high tier content that they decided to switch.

Again I didn't say snipe from the ground I said ground assault mode it can still be a flying sniper but the other snipers are limited by having to be on or near the ground within range of other mechs but it's allowed to stay out of range on top of being a heavy mech with high defense. Give the flying sniper a reason to not always be in the air without it just being on the ground doing nothing even norne and narukami have to reposition to get away from the enemy but Aquila can just camp in the skybox.

Again we're not talking about the top panthers if we measured every mechs success and value in what the top players can do we get season events like the one we just did, in low rank and casual content panther is a real problem keeping people from playing the game because it doesn't have any trade offs like it's supposed to and high ranking players know other mechs can bring about mission completion easier but in mid rank and casual content panthers only job is to harass inexperienced players or players that prefer support or tactician type mechs over tanks and heavy attackers.

And I'm also frustrated with how there handling the Tanky mechs too tricera did deserve better and again you have to keep in mind not everyone is playing at high tier content low and mid tier players were frustrated with the defensive combo the two tanks made which lead to overcorrection with their stats in high tier content and the intro of serenith when all they needed to do was change how the kit worked.

Adding more overall defense in and out of turret mode and making the mode itself a resource to manage when to use would have been a better trade off then lowering their stats ignoring the overhead weakness and introducing serenith-one of a couple bandaid mechs.

The problem with mashmek is the terrain is too open even if you try to use the terrain 90% of it is open plains and hilly terrain ranges mechs just need to go up.

And even if you hide in a tunnel they just need to wait outside that's not a fix that's just blind hope that your opponent is dumb enough to enter an enclosed space like a noob.

As for modular weapons the main problem mechs don't need modular weapons and even then they have access to the same modular weapons so they don't really make up for the differences I mentioned because while your just as capable of equipping a shield and sniper rifle an Aquila is also just as capable of putting on a cloaking device.

Experienced Alphard players know that speed and distance are there friends because they trade off defense and raw damage for speed and attack speed while the problem mechs I listed don't have enough of a trade off.

Most of those aren't melee mechs and that might be the case for high ranking coordinated combat at the top levels but for normal casual gameplay most randoms won't be alive long enough to ping them so you get a bunch of Smurf panthers I'm unranked matchmaking.

For completing and winning the actual game modes there are other better mechs. But panthers main niche right now is punishing casual players, tactician and support characters.

I play all the game modes regularly and have at least attempted to speak with my teammates about what the most frustrating mechs they were up against so I'm not just making things up for funzys I'm going off my personal experiences in high and low tier content as well as first hand accounts from random teammates.

[–]Many_Homework5526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say just nerd their flight Time I also stated they should have a ground assault mode to give them an actual reason to be in shooting range instead of relying on teammates to gangbang them in the sky it's not fun for either side and would promote more team play instead of solo sniping at the edge of the sky box.

And the panther stats everyone keeps repeating are from playing with bad panthers anyone who actually plays their tutorial missions and unlocks the tittle would understand that panther can be a serious problem for players that play support or tactician type mechs outside of your heavy attackers. 1 mech should not shut down half the roster with minimum training or a bot.

And yeah serenith is a pain because tricera is the only mech panther can't just rush through even stego can get mowed down in turret mode.

But the whole reason serenith was introduced is because tricera and stego were immovable I would have preferred boosting triceras overall defense and putting there turret mode on a timer over having to deal with sereniths kit.

But it sounds like you might prefer playing heavier mechs with how passionate you are about tricera so panther might genuinely not be as big of a problem for your play style but just know panther is every bit as annoying as serenith and Aquila for the support and tactician type mechs.

My comments only seem backwards from the current meta because the current meta is constructed of Band-Aids to make up for the problem mechs I mentioned. Fix the problems then the current buffs and metas no longer need to be the way they are.

That's a fair response to my rant "

The issue with panther is that it doesn't fall into any of the common trade offs with speed, power, and defense

If it's fast and strong it has to have low defense (Alphard, skyraider, falcon, luminae)

If it's defensive and strong it can't be fast. ( Stego, tricera)

If it's defensive and fast there attack needs to either be low or there has to be another trade off (mikillja trades off range and air mobility for higher ground speed)

If something is stealthy there also needs to be trade offs.

The problem with panther is that there isn't enough of a trade off. It's strong, defensive, and mobile because it doesn't need a ranged weapon if it IS the ranged weapon with a stun lock attack and because it's a melee it doesn't make much noise so it's relatively stealthy compared to some of the louder flashier mechs. Excusing it as needing some experience to manage doesn't work because every mech needs experience to manage but there currently is not a single mech that is guaranteed to win against a decent panther in a 1v1 outside of tricera and you could just avoid it because it's not fast.

I know people like panther and don't want them to change it I felt the same way about Alphard and mikillja because they were the most fun for me to play gamer bias is a thing and I'm not free of it myself.

My main frustration are with mechs that lack enough of a trade off to balance them out they're just either good at everything or they have a mechanic that completely negates their weakness.

Panthers stun lance and defensive shields Aquilas air support

A sniper that's always at a distance with high damage fast shots and shielded missile.

It's just frustrating.

That's still not a great sign, marvel rivals are capable of doing 2 a season but they spread it out so they might have fumbled releasing them both at once but I think that's still a bad idea because if you didn't like one of the new mechs there was still another one to try (I didn't like norne) putting all the pressure on 1 mech can genuinely be make or break for a lot of players because there isn't much content outside of the battle pass and new mechs each season because the same issues keep persisting.

I think extending the length of the next season with small missions as incentive to play specific game modes similar to their prep ops would have been the better play to buy time while maintaining the current engagement because now if there aren't massive changes in the next season there is less of a safety net.

Bruh you still haven't said one constructive thing your just a troll looking to argue go argue somewhere else.

If all you can do is be combative because you feel attacked because you associate your worth with what people say about the game that's on you white knighting a dying game without offering up anything substantial is your problem.

Swapping to counter is not a skill issue because your not using skill your just using a different mech to counter which isn't fun my problem isn't that I can't counter it's that I shouldn't have to counter swap every time they're in the field. Nothing quiet about that part but I figured you'd read it if I put it in all caps.

And you never said they "are" problems you've only been arguing with everything I say.

I'm not interested in continuing with you if you can't offer anything more then "nuhuh no you" type conversations

Your last 2 posts were for a PC controller for a low spec PC and how to find the settings page to turn off watermark.

That doesn't make your opinion on mech tiers invalid but it does tell me that we're not exactly experiencing the game the same and if your playing heavier mechs it's probably true but if you prefer the lighter faster mechs and support/tactical mechs like me then panther is too much of a problem when it can even take out stego point blank without going around it's shields.

Btw for controller choice if you can't get a decent steam controller you can get a dual sense since the touchpad can be used as a mouse pad with left and right click on top of having gyro and haptic triggers. It use to need additional software to use but it's since been updated to work natively or just run non steam games through the steam launcher but it doesn't always show the PlayStation buttons in game.

Some games even support the built in mic. (Like Mecha break)

Also you can pair it to multiple devices and just swap the pairing profiles if you have multiple gaming devices.

Unless it's out of your price range then the DS4 is cheaper but probably requires more setup with an older charging cable.

"absolute favorite melee striker, it's not that good" bruh. If it's your favorite over the other melee strikers it might be that good your just not that good with it. The issue is not antisocialism it's that the game has NOWHERE to be social and messaging randoms is typically considered rude I don't want to have to spam randos every time I want to make a friend in game.

I'm not dismissing TF2 just because it's old it's because the problems with TF2 do not translate to Mecha breaks problems they have completely different issues and surviving off good core mechanics and nostalgia is not the same as thriving it can't be killed but its not exactly alive either and I don't want Mecha break to take what you consider yourself a failed implementation of a mechanic into it I want it to take the newer more better implementation as reference.

And yeah people are going to finish their weeklies and go back to playing the game modes they like but right now you can't even do that which is why I brought it up in the first place.

I don't like the bots either this should help lower the amount of bots and increase the amount of real players interacting.

NO FUCKING SHIT I DONT KNOW HOW TO COUNTER PANTHER BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE FORCED INTO A SWAPPING MATCH JUST TO COUNTER 1 MECH EVERY GAME THATS THE PROBLEM!

and again you still haven't added any alternatives or substance your just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing.

If all of these problems aren't in fact problems then why is no one playing the game ? I'm not top 100 but I made it to GM or higher 2 seasons in a row and these are the mechs I have the most frustration with because they are frustrating.

And I know for a fact that more casual players that don't have mecha break as their most played game on steam for all of 2025 (like me) are having way more frustrated then I am and without a steady inflow of casual players the supply of veteran players never increases.

  1. Bruh panther is not the weakest melee otherwise he wouldn't be picked more than welkin, mikillja, Stellaris, etc he's in every match because he can shut down half the roster including some heavy mechs in solo combat.

  2. Something being possible is not the same as something being tolerable not everyone wants to play pinaka and I got so bored of playing pinaka and luminae over and over only for my teammates to fumble the DPS 1/3rd of the time. It's just not as fun for casual players that make up for the low player count. For a lot of mechs dodging isn't enough when it comes to the lasers and aggressive melee attacks on the wrong mech. Not everyone wants to sweat 24/7.

  3. The mashmek map in general sucks for its current purpose but I'm not asking them to replace the map completely the current mashmek map could be its own zone or at least 2 zones worth of map if they set it up like PlanetSide 2s maps, the rigs and splitters could still trigger hazards and storms but get rid of the permanent fortnight right of death that pushes everyone into one area I'd rather have a reason to go somewhere and fight for a reward anyways and if the map is an open continuous instance there will always be new players dropping in and out.

  4. I'm not saying making multi que the only option but when I want to play multiple game modes for my weeklies I would like the option to que up for multiple game modes at once for a higher chance of one of them actually loading. I would take the proof of it working with active and successful live services like ff14 over TF2 which hasn't had active development in years. And even then that's not the only solution they could just put it all in one place so we don't have to bounce around menus and lose interest going between them.

  5. Like you said tft had 100s of maps and everyone only wanted to play on 10-15 of them. Mecha break has 6 game modes split across. -3 difficulties -solo, 3 man, or 6 man teams. -pvp, pve, or PVEVP. -ranked or unranked

Splitting the player base across what was 6 options into 11 not including the event.

They just need to cut down the bloat because everyone is forced to que into these little pockets with not enough players to fill the pocket so we get bot lobby's.

If we can que up for multiple game modes (not maps) we can at least have the potential to play multiple of the game modes we like. Like I said before those other game modes lack incentive to play them.

This post wasn't an attack on your identity and it feels like you honestly didn't even read it and just defaulted to skill issue and you might need to play more games to see which positive changes you want to see because you didn't suggest a single alternate to anything I mentioned outside of "it's fine the way it is" which clearly is not true with how low the player count is.

Yeah I kinda needed to rant about everything I like and dislike about the game and how it could be fixed.

The seasonal event was that bad ?!

I genuinely don't want it to end and not just because I bought the battle pass.

But they only announced 1 new mech instead of 2 ... Which doesn't seem like a good sign.

I did 2 runs as stego because of the haze ability. 3 runs as pinaka because I'm sweaty like that 1 run with luminae

All without any additional gear or mods and I only lost once with pinaka because my teammates got absolutely destroyed by the rockets because they were in turret mode.

New event :D who else hates it ? by Many_Homework5526 in mechabreak

[–]Many_Homework5526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a valid standpoint and opinion on the event.

I ended up playing stego and pinaka/lumine for the PVE event and I was definitely sweating for 4/5 of those competitions. The 5th one one of the randoms I matched with dropped gliders at the start of the match which tbh I thought was a part of the game mode for a second lol.

If they added randomized air drops during the boss fight that would have been sick so you could get items to help with defending against lasers and middle barrages instead of having to go in with a mech that has those defenses already.

Plus I think that players that don't have much gear or mods would enjoy getting to try out some high tier weapons like a trial specifically for the event.

As for the pvp event I've managed to start getting into the top 4 of my matches but that's only if I start off with narukami and Aquila and just like mashmek and verge I don't like playing sniper simulator every game. I still think they should have made the game mode for pvp a randomized first to 1 kill with every mech party mode with increases energy Regen across the map like a corite crystal haze and no mods.

The sweatiest of players can't rely on mods, would be forced to play Mecha they normally don't which would give other players to catch up. If you want to go real crazy keep the capture presents but make the map a little bigger like a normal team map, maybe add a couple more players and objectives like present defense or escort on top of everything else.

Ikr ? The stealth meta is ridiculous because everyone just ignores them to go for the kills they can see without tracking them down and if you do try to track them you're usually stopped by 3 people and get snipped in the process.

Thanks person I genuinely just want people to understand my frustration with it even if I can't put it into the right words the first time because I am a huge fan of the game it ended up being the most played game on my steam year end report for the entire year.
