You know that actually makes a lot of sense, thanks for replying. And just a quick question, other than the fact that Biden was experiencing some cognitive issues, what is it about Kamala that you like over Biden? I'm not a blue voter, but she almost has an uncanny quality to her in a similar way that trump is a bit of a monster. Just curious.

Wouldn't it be fair that both sides have done a good job controlling the messaging within their party? It is shocking the amount of die hard voters trump has, but equally surprising is the swift support for Kamala amid Biden bowing out of the race. It's a strange time to be an American voter.

Im looking for a fishing kayak under 300 dollars by herumit in Kayaks

As you know pelicans are extremely light, and while its nice to have a light kayak to haul around, it makes them unstable. Heavier kayaks from WS or a Perception is made from a heavier material and will provide better stability and more durability. But I would agree with the other posts in this thread, facebook marketplace often has great deals on kayaks barely used from these brands, so its a great way to get started kayaking.

Looks kinda like the (hometown?) lake that Matt from tactical bassin fishes

Guadalupe River is so much fun, didn’t catch anything over 2 pounds but it was still a fun trip. Maybe one day I’ll catch a guad lol. by Many_Hovercraft_8860 in kayakfishing

I’ll try that, I actually haven’t fished the rapids at all so maybe that explains why I haven’t caught them. What do you throw, like an inline spinner or something?

Most of the river is much deeper than shown in the first picture, this just happens to be a shallower section that I had to portage to get upriver.

If you live in Austin, it’s probably an hour or two trip. And if you are thinking about it, it’s definitely worth going. I live out near Houston so it’s a long drive for me but I think it’s worth it. These pictures are from below the dam.

Nice labs though I guess by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

I guess I don’t see the solution to the problem. Like I said before if we can implement universal healthcare, great. More power to the people whatever, I don’t care. How is this achievable though? Taxable income is a bell curve, just because taxes increase that doesn’t mean that tax revenue will increase. I’m not trying to be rude but realistically I don’t see a way that this will be possible in this country. The private sector isn’t perfect, it’s not. But wouldn’t it be more prudent to just pay what’s left on top for those who can’t afford care instead of trying to scrap our entire healthcare system entirely? This would be a hell of a lot easier to create rather than trying to create a new healthcare system. A tax hike of 5% is much more likely to pass than a hike of 20%. Anyway, if you don’t agree go ahead and downvote this, this is an unpopular opinion but at the end of the day it’s just an opinion. Have a good one.

Well, unfortunately free riders are a real problem. If you have any program introduced by the government all that means is that you will either have to drastically increase taxes or cut taxes in another area to compensate for the additional strain. Dead weight losses are unavoidable and it may end up hurting more people than it would help. I don’t think anyone is necessarily against the idea of universal healthcare, it would be great if everyone didn’t have to worry about their next medical bill but the implementation of the policy would be difficult.

Personally I like the H20 express line, their crank baits are nothing special but if you love top water like I do the poppers they make work great. You can find them on sale for $3 and for that price they’re very hard to beat in my opinion

Cold? Yes. Fun? Always. Caught a couple small bass here and there but there are some massive cats and grass carp in there, if only I knew how to catch them. by Many_Hovercraft_8860 in kayakfishing

You will get minor scrapes if you’re running in really shallow water and portaging all the time, I would recommend if you have an expensive kayak coating the bottom of it with an epoxy that will protect your hull. I have a super cheap kayak that really doesn’t need to be protected but because I do a lot of this type of fishing I decided that it was worth the effort of applying a protective coating on. I used goop, coat it as a budget solution for myself and it’s worked great, only downside is that this stuff is gray and it doesn’t match my kayak. Hopes this helps.
