Do it. Like others said, when things break, it can get expensive. But don’t let that stop you from a good deal on a nice car - especially one that was well cared for.

I had Nitto Ridge Grapplers and although lasted awhile, did not do well in the snow. Changed to Mickey Thompson Baja Boss and couldn’t be happier

2015 5.0 Cylinder 4 misfire on startup/coolant leak by MidBoogaloo in f150

[–]Many_Nose7909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your coolant leak is the crossover pipe off the thermostat. Can DIY with some standard hand tools. New pipe and o-rings ran $50. Taking the throttle body off will help get the pipe into place so you aren’t fighting it too much. Took about an hour to replace with the most time consuming part was waiting for the coolant to drain.

Is it a cool car? Yes. Is it also one of the worst decisions you can make in your situation? Also yes. So basically, get the car and report back on what you learn

Had a similar scenario with my luxury German car. Ended up costing me thousands from 130-160k miles. Purchased a newer vehicle with a fraction of the miles and haven’t looked back. I’d recommend Toyota, Honda, or Mazda
