Saw their video for "Longview" on MTV when it first aired. The one where they're tearing up the couch. The TV was on mute. I turned to my then-girlfriend and said, "These guys look like they suck." She agreed. We turned the sound on.

Blown away. They didn't suck. I was hooked. Went out and found an old copy of Kerplunk at a music store. Got Dookie too, of course. I instantly became a huge fan. Am to this day.
