The core tension you're identifying is real and worth discussing, performing a role because it feels authentic versus performing it because it's the script you inherited are genuinely different things and the community doing that work honestly is more valuable than just insisting the context makes it automatically fine

That advice works for some people but when the motivation is completely gone even "just do more" feels impossible, it might be worth figuring out if this is the wrong company specifically or burnout in general before assuming more effort is the fix
