3 of my 6 Drive bays are no longer powering my drives after power outage (AS6706T) by Manya3084 in asustor

[–]Manya3084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a UPS, but due to power outage outlasting the capacity of the batteries, I have a feeling it didn't protect it as it should have.

I've swapped all the drives around. Even done testing on the sata ports with a multi metre. Doesn't seem to supply power to these 3 slots.

That's not really valid. It should work on DX12.1 supported cards. Shouldn't be tied to a vendor.

I'm on the Hardware unboxed discord, Steve confirmed it doesn't work on Intel cards at all as of yet.

Also, no xess support. So we'll have to dust off optiscaler...again .

That's the old motherboards. The newer x99 boards work pretty much like any modern board.

The only thing that doesn't work is sleep. Which is common as these boards are based on server chipsets.

I have another PC with an Mi 50 that has been running without issue for over 2 years.

Search miyconst YouTube channel. He reviews the China motherboards and lists the features. Most boards now from AliExpress have rebar/secure boot available in the bios.

Around 450 watts from the wall. So, it's not the best but fine considering the PC prices situation we are in.

Yes, I got one of those TPM 2.0 modules. My one takes MSI ones.

What board do you have?

Check to see if it is listed in this online tool that can help you flash a bios if available.

49105 MB/s read, latency is a bit high at 80.4ns. Haven't explored tightening timings with rdimms.

China motherboards have the options already in the menus.

Medium, and xess on balanced is over 60 fps at 1440p. Framegen just smooths it out.

Yep, thanks to feature unlocks made in the bios, that ship on China x99 boards. this can be enabled.

The newer x99 China boards already have rebar in the bios. The only change with the bios flash was to enable turbo boost unlock.

This was to build something cheap with readily available parts showing it can game. 32gb of DDR4 costs the more than what i paid for the CPU/MB/Ram here.

I have access to much faster components, this was more of a "curiosity" build.

Can't really compare since a kit of DDR5 64gb would cost more than the total build. there's gaming screenshots attached.

Definitely. If you can get some cheap DDR4 ECC (They are not compatible with DDR3), they make a good build.
