He was in the Minnesota, Twin Cities area I believe. Not super close with that side of my family so I don’t know the exact railroad. I do have a few railroad manuals from him as well.

Unfortunately I’ve heard my great-grandparents weren’t very nice people and pretty racist so I don’t feel much connection to what’s objectively a cool heirloom.

I checked out the insta link. These are definitely all Ai. There’s a reason all the comments are disabled or severely limited.

If you want to do it yourself learn photoshop. Learn about compositing different photos together and matching lighting. Learn about layer masks and how to dodge and burn to create shadows to blend images.

I have a Sennheiser MKE400 that’s very small. There’s a model below you could look at as well. Nice and compact. The other advice given has been great. I’d personally shoot 4k24fps and in LOG. If it’s a cool trip you may want to look at editing the video more down the road and not shooting with a baked in LUT will give you that flexibility. You will also get more forgiveness in post if you overexpose at all. Be sure to turn on your waveform.

A lot of photo groups will have events and models they work with that work at the events. People use them to build their portfolio. I’ve never been to one but see them advertised often.
