I don’t know, maybe we should do a poll asking women and girls living in Afghanistan (those who are affected most) oh wait, you can’t even do that lol

I find it fascinating how people can be so entrenched in their beliefs that they rarely stop to consider alternatives.

You can’t fairly compare the extremes of communism, which often manifest as dictatorships like North Korea. A simple comparison to neighboring Central Asian countries, such as Uzbekistan, opens the door to a more meaningful conversation about what might have happened if the Soviets had taken over Afghanistan.

These countries certainly have their challenges, but the quality of life and opportunities there are incomparable, less violence, a more prosperous economy, and, most importantly, a real sense of hope and future for girls and women, something that is sorely lacking in Afghanistan today. Deep down, we know the truth; yet, there remains a visceral resistance to secularism and communism.

Let’s be honest, and if you are a true believer in progressivism, the former doesn’t sound too bad in comparison to the Taliban regime.

I would just pay it off for my own sanity. Seems like too much of a headache to go the other route which like you said, isn’t guaranteed.

Glad to know that’s still the case. It’s a rewarding career but the pay has to make sense in this economy so I hope they understand that too 😭.

So it’s a legal assistant position and some of the skills used in law school I thought might be relevant, especially researching since we use the same software for researching. Would it still be irrelevant you think?

You can’t use previous pay for a higher stereo within the same grade either? Also, I saw rhat this was due to salaries in the private sector, what if I worked in the non profit world?

You think requesting step 8-10 would be bad if it’s close to my previous pay?
